Love this place. It is SO scenic amd has trails running all over the place. My dog loves the adventure and I do too. There are small animals sculptures they have put on top of logs (the one of the snake scared me to death). They have a storage shed that they have made to look like a huge tree trunk. It is beautiful. There is also a HUGE tree that is laid out that I often see people climbing on. There is really plenty to see and they even have a water fountain with one on the bottom for your dog. In one section they have poop bags and trash cans too. As you pull in, there is a house with a Vollyball net set up next...

Color me surprised... nice park where the vast majority of people have their dogs on leashes (unlike Henderson Park). Amazed how empty the place is any day of the week. We go there several times a week. Some nice open, sunny areas and a lot of shaded spots. After a rain, there are several very muddy spots that have been covered by wood chips. Some weird concrete shapes like a snake, turtles, and fungus attached to trees. And some cement-bark benches. Have seen bunnies, a juvenile racoon, and lots of chipmunks. Only complaints... poison ivy EVERYWHERE and lots...

Watch out for the Snake! Briarlake Forest Park is a hidden gem in Decatur! I had a great time walking the trail and enjoying the peaceful, natural surroundings. The park is well-maintained, with beautiful old-growth trees, picnic areas, and a relaxing atmosphere. One fun surprise—watch out for the snake! There's a realistic fake snake that might make you do a double-take. It definitely caught me off guard! Whether you're looking for a quiet nature walk or a spot to unwind, this park is definitely worth a visit!

Nice neighborhood park with walking trails picnic area and bathrooms. The park has preserved the front of the house that was on this lot and made a covered picnic area and a nice bathroom. The numerous cross crossing trails are mulch with sides marked with tree limbs. There are also little gardens.

A pleasant stroll through a neighborhood park. The trails are well marked, wind through a fairly old growth forest. Many huge old fallen trees makes for an interesting walk. The pavilion is a beautifully retrofitted vintage home.
