Hope to see everyone tonight at the Northlake Barbara Loar library from 6 to 7:30 I’ll be providing food, drinks, and a greater understanding of the architecture around us that all began 100 years ago, with Frank Loyd, Wright’s “Prairie style”, the great grandfather of the American ranch

TONIGHT! NORTHLAKE PUBLIC LIBRARY: GUEST SPEAKER: JOHN JOHNSON. 6-7:30PM 3772 LAVISTA RD TUCKER, FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT LECTURE SERIES. FLW at the end of his life was asked to design a building to reach far into the future where he envisioned art would be experienced similarly to a musical composition, not static pieces on a flat beige wall in a dark square room of artificial light. Most of the modern architectural master's: Wright, Gropius, Mies, Neutra, Le Cobusier would all be gone in less than a decade after the Guggenheim began it's rise on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, Guggenheim himself, never lived to see it's completion. "Post Modern" Architects of the 70's, like over indulged children would take the old master’s places, and sneer at the sleek buildings of The Bauhaus with "Less is a Bore". So with this last Lecture on Frank Lloyd Wright we pay homage to his final structure he personally oversaw and sadly wave good bye to our old friend...Food and Beverages Provided by your host: John Johnson Topic’s covered: Prairie Style, Textile Block Buildings of LA, Brutalist Architecture, Non Objective Art of the early 20th century. #modernarchitecture #franklloydwright

The people here have been extremely unhelpful. I called yesterday to see if a Chromebook was available. My laptop is being repaired and I really needed to get a paper typed and some other work done at home as all my files are home. The young lady told me to call back in a couple of hours, because it's there, but not prepared to be used. I called back this morning to give some extra time and the young man said it still wasn't prepared. I told him what happened the day before and he didn't seem to care, telling me he's not in charge of that and to try back in a couple of hours. I told him if the person who was in charge was available and he said no. Poor service and extremely disappointed. A little extra help goes a long way, because you never know who needs assistance or...

Been coming here for several years and they still have the same dusty ripped carpet that they refuse to fix I'm shock to being that this is a affluent neighborhood I would expect that they would have by now!

And I wish Friday would be one of the days that they close late It would make more sense than Wednesday are Thursday because children get out of school on Friday and may have homework Or a weekend...

DeKalb library events are usually wonderful; this library hosted the only one I've attended at which I felt uncomfortable and disrespected. Like a lot of north DeKalb libraries, they've also discarded most children's books that are more than a few years old, so the shelves are mostly bare. Very odd choice. Checkout...
