UNSAFE PLAYGROUND! This park is pretty, spacious and peaceful, but unfortunately this park is VERY neglected by the city. The playground equipment is in terrible shape and unsafe for small children. Whomever is responsible for the park's upkeep needs to be FIRED, for the reasons listed below:
All of the baby swings are gone.
Only two of the four regular swings are functional, but the seats on both swings have split and cracked, exposing bare sheet metal that is just a disaster waiting to happen.
Two of the three slides are cracked along the bottom, which is eventually going to impale a kid's leg on broken plastic... or just collapse.
The Tic Tac Toe game rollers are broken and useless, raining shards of broken yellow plastic on the rocks beneath.
And... I actually got cut on a large piece of bent metal tubing that had fallen off of something. There's literally a piece of plywood keeping kids from falling off of the edge.
Did I mention the hornet's nest in the ground near the picnic tables? Or the DISGUSTING port a john that passes for a bathroom, which is plastered inside with rude, crude and racist graffiti?
Listen, I go to this park because it's in walking distance and we don't have a car to get us to any place better. If you can go elsewhere to let your kids play, you absolutely SHOULD go elsewhere. Someone is going to be badly injured here and the city couldn't seem to care less. I'll give it an extra star for the very pretty little garden area with the fenced pond, but unfortunately that's the only really nice feature...

The slides as well as several other objects to play on, are severely cracked and a child could potentially get hurt. Please fix the park...
