The area was tranquil. It was wonderful to see the snow covering the whole park. The water falls were were intriguing to look at, while frozen over. The hot sun was melting the ice sculpture of the flowing stream and waterfall. I took a walk by myself carefully watching my surroundings. I hung out their for hours singing, while encouragong deep breathing. I did exercise their as well. My afternoon there was soothing and healing to my soul. I watched a few couples come by to the lookout, A dad with like 5 kids and what appeared to be a younger man sharing the scene with his older dad, maybe grandpa. Everyone seemed very happy to be there. I also saw some teenage boys who were respectful. It was very muddy from the snow melting, so nobody, including myself walked the trail. The step down point porch from the main one was roped off with closed. I saw a women slip under encouraging her young children and husband to follow. I am sure it was closed do to the freezing weather conditions. The sun melted, therefore they were safr. The wrought iron at another picture perfect area by the trail is ornate and beautiful. The benches are decorated in history. They also have a podium type structute with the history of the falls having been moved 300feet by the early settlers and why....
Read moreHidden jewel. If coming down miles, you will need to look closely to your right when you are crossing 93rd street because it can be easily missed because you have to make a quick right after the light.
Once your get to the parking lot it's pretty small maybe 1 or 2 handicap spaces, and about 8 to 10 other parking spaces but it is free. There is a trail that I have yet to pursue.
For the location, the view is really nice..and serene. There are two balconies very sturdy and we'll hated.. however, please watch little ones close. Once you are parked , you will not be able to see the falls from the lot.but begin walking back towards the entrance and to your left is a small trail that leads to the first balcony.
There are about two benches and one historically decorated stool.
Then you go down the stairs for a closer look on the second balcony.
Beware that at certain time of day , the train passes through, at the top of the fall. Depending on the time of year and time of day, the sound of the train maybe muffled, as is such for seeing the train through the trees and many bushes.i lived down the street for 40 years and never knew this place existed in the hood. Nice daily get away from all the smog and...
Read moreI really enjoyed Mill Creek Falls. The overall park was clean and trails were paved. There was a nice platform made so that you could see the falls but I was a little disappointed with the placement of it. It felt like you were a couple of feet too far upstream for you to really look down and see the entire waterfall and take in the beauty of it. There was another view from the paved path around the corner but there was a tree on one side and some tree branches on the other side obstructing the view a little bit. After following along the path looking for any sort of trail or way to get down to the bottom of the falls for maybe a closer up view I discovered a very steep and treacherous looking trail that went down to the bottom. It's too bad there isn't a way to get down toward the bottom of the falls for a closer look. Hopefully the Cleveland Metropark staff will come by and trim up the trees so that they don't obstruct the view but otherwise it was...
