Ocoee Outdoors — Attraction in Cleveland

This was something my wife and I decide to do on whim. I basically chose the outfit based on the best reviews and now I know why we chose Ocoee Outdoors. This was the most fun we've had in a long time and our guide and all of the guides were very professional and made the trip a lot of fun. I would highly recommend them and can't wait to see them again! Thanks again!

Wow..what a difference. First I have to say this. Although I don't view the operation Ocoee Outdoors completely negligent, but the guide we had today was absolutely incompetent and I wouldn't even let him drive the bus. The first trip we had was some of the most fun I've ever had. We didn't hit or get stuck on any rocks and we're expertly guided down the river. This trip we were literally stuck on top of multiple rocks, once so bad that the guide had to literally risk his own safety by getting out of the boat to get us unstuck. The worst part was when he took the wrong angle into the class 4 rapid named "Double Suck" and caused the entire boat to flip over literally sending everyone flying out on all directions and the boat to flip over upside down on another passenger causing her to get trapped underneath. No other boat or guide had ANY of the above problems. I will applaud every other guide and even some of the other outfitters for coming to everyone's rescue and getting everyone to safety, but not before the damage was done. EVERY passenger in the boat at this point decided against finishing the rest of their rafting adventure due to safety concerns. I am not by any means stupid, and I understand that there are certain risks involved with this activity, and I understand everyone has a bad day every once in a while, but when your day is consistently making mistake after mistake with other people's lives on the line is just utter incompetence. My wife and I decided to stay at the cabin and took advantage of all the activities this place provided. The front office staff was friendly and was always engaging us in conversation during our stay. The cabin was great, it had everything we needed , no additional cost and the cost of the cabin was A great price. We also rented a boat and took a four hour trip down the river. Once again the staff was friendly and very professional. The next day we decided to go kyaking. Awesome guy that day very friendly and helped us out a lot. The last adventure was white water rafting. When we arrived we met our guide Kent. This guy was the most professional guide that I have ever met. Top notch, went above and beyond to explain things to us and provide us with a great ride. Over all this place was amazing. It was just what my wife and I needed. I quite place to relax. I would highly suggest this place to anyone I meet. Lastly, I want to personally thank everyone there for their professionalism and courtesy returBing next year and taking the 5 hour trip down the river. Being a US Marine I was highly impressed with the professionalism of the river guide. Next year we will defantly ask for Kent. Thanks again and Semper Fi ( always faithful)...

Ocoee Outdoors is the only way to go down the Ocoee! I lived in Cleveland for 4 years and used them several times as well as spending many hours on it in a kayak. I taught my daughter to swim in this river just passed the raft take-out. she finally turned old enough this year to take a trip down it with me, and it was well worth the wait! Double O has guides that don’t just do this for a job, but sharing their love of this river, the area and what it has to offer. The goal was not to just make it down the river, but to provide my daughter an experience that reflected the importance of this area on our lives. OO guides take the time to surf, jump off a rock into the current, and make this trip as memorable as possible. if your goal is simply say “I’ve rafted” then go ahead and get a Groupon to someone else, but if you really want to experience the Ocoee and get an appreciation for the power of water and have a true cathartic experience, trust the artists at Ocoee Outdoors. I waited 8 years to make this trip with my daughter and drove over 5 hours, and my every expectation was exceeded.
