Update below⬇️
The Short: Great Spot if you like riding bike's, having fun and be challenged.
The Long: I took my 11 year old son here mid January when the temp was a high of 10 deg. and had a great time and not to cold in the park. The staff was great and very helpful, the park was very clean and being in my late 40's I didn't feel like the old dude at a kids bike park as there were many young and old riding. All different types of bike too!!! One guy had a gravel bike!!! But he was having a blast riding around with his daughter. Being from NC this was a destination spot for us and was great to talk to some of the local riders young and old. Love seeing how many families were there too. Ray's has couches (with near by fireplaces) & TV's to have a cozy vibe and for the non-riders to be comfortable. Many different spots to park your stuff through out the park. It's much like a ski resort in that regard with families bring lunch and snacks to get them though the day of fun and just dropping their stuff at a picnic table. You could clearly tell who the more experienced riders were but I never felt out of place, Thanks Cleveland for being so Cool!!!
Lastly, the parking lot. When we first got there and were parking, this guy drives up in a white truck and asks us if were trying to park? "Well yah" he then points us to a good spot to park. As we were there for a few days we got to know him "Bronco" was his name and LOVED that Ray's has someone "actively" driving around checking the parking lot making sure there were no brake-in's and just keeping the space safe.
UPDATE: Well given the stoke of our last trip we took the whole family to Rays as a Christmas gift. And again walked away even more impressed. Kids loved it and all progressed in their bike skills (even me @49!). Though day one I got a sweet pedal bite requiring 7 stitches. As I walked my bike to the front desk needed help with my leg the staff could not have been more helpful. Not only jumping into action but having abundant supplies to help cover my wound. Clearly not there first rodeo. On top of this they gave me some passes for next time, given that my day was cut short. I was able to get back on the bike and clear some jumps in the profile room.
Thanks (AGAIN!) for...
Read moreok so, i literally flew in from HOU to check out this place and OMG was i SOOOO right to take the trip! winter is the best time to visit, summer is a no go as the locals have mentioned that it becomes an oven inside and no airflow, plus it is only open on the weekends, anyhow... my extraordinarily simple review is yes i will give it 10 starts if i could i loved every minute of the ride time! the locations DOES accommodate riders of all skill levels, HOWEVER! in order to squeeze the most juice out of the experience it would be recommended that you have SOME MTB or BMX riding experience, the pump track is fun yet not super technical and is a great work out! i personally enjoyed all the tracks, of course there where some locations that i could not really jump but ill be back with more experience and squeeze 1000% of the experience next time, (yes i am coming back). ALL obstacles are "rollable" which is a massive plus for initial riders. i ride mostly MTB and i have not ridden in over 3 months, at the end of the day i was doing some decent jumping.. ALSO a 29er is far from ideal, i think the biggest bike you could ride should be a 27.5 but they dont have those they only have 26ers and 29ers, i say this because in some sections the berms are EXTREMELY tight for a 29er but great for a 26er or BMX the massive drop pass the storage room is intimidating but doable with some courage. at the end of the day i was boosting the pump track like nothing i was flying! (on a 29er) the place is very clean and all the staff members i spoke to so far do ride BMX or MTB. refreshments can get a little pricy but 10/10 i will drink another smoothy from the snack bar with some protein! got me a shirt i personally would like to come back and organize a group trip with other bike riding enthusiast and share the experience! 10/10 great place to jump and also 10/10 great place to fall down i wish we had something...
Read moreThis is a great place for the adventurous family, especially when the weather outside turns Ohio gloomy. This poem I wrote after our last trip there tries to sum it up to someone considering going and makes me remember that I’d like to go again, even though I’m over 40 and not a lover of mountain biking!
