Dilapidated buildings. No activities for children. Basically outhouses were the only choices with no where to wash hands. Cafe had very limited choices but the coffee we got was good. There was some odd group camping on site. No public notice of this activity was stated in any information. We had traveled with our young grandchildren to see the village. The group was not obnoxious and I don't mind this choice but they were not a group that I would have taken young children to, had I known ahead of time we could have made different plans to accommodate all. They were a fantasy group role playing and dressed in a manner I would have avoided with children. Caused us to need to be very careful where we let the kids go/see and play. I was very disappointed. This was a great place to teach children about our history in the 1980s. Absolutely not now. I would not recommend this place for children. I actually felt it was a bit dangerous. If you do go I recommend you hold your children's hands at all times and never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been here a couple of times for an overnight investigation. I love It and enjoy the exploring the buildings. In the war house we have gotten good activity. The last time I visited was summer 2024 and we got good stuff. Some nonbelievers in my group got a taste lol! One group went off looking around the grounds and found another bridge. As they were investigating they heard a really loud smack on the bridge. They all jumped of course (scared the tar outta of em) they investigated the sound and no one was able to debunk It. It was 4am at the time and It was further out than the village. My group was in the school house investigating and didnāt know that group had found another bridge. We definitely plan on coming back in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here today to explore around and see the sights, since it was somewhere we'd never went to during the Covered Bridge Festival last year. It was cool seeing all the old buildings, some of which that were locked, but we met a very nice woman named Melissa that told us a lot of cool info about the place. There was basically no one there, so it was nice to just walk around the buildings at our leisure. We even got to buy some sodas from the general store, though it wasn't technically "open" at the time, but Melissa was helpful again, so kudos to her for making it a pleasant...
