One of the covered bridges in Billie Creek Village, it is the only one that is still open to vehicles. And even better, the clearance and capacity were sufficient to fit my Sprinter van. It is a single lane. A Burr Arch Truss that was built by prolific builder Joseph J. Daniels, this one was completed in 1895. It was originally part of the roadway that would become US 36 nearby. The Howard and Hollandsburg Bridges nearby did get saved. Despite being open to traffic, it is still in excellent condition and well worth a visit. I believe it's a "star" in the annual Covered Bridge Festival.

While there is clearly much work to be done before the village is back to its former glory, you can tell the staff care about the projects ahead of them. They are working to better the site while maintaining the history. I love it for our LARPing events! Plus the farm cat is pretty awesome.

Amazing, beautiful, active place. If you have time to stop and listen you can hear the voices of the past. Amy and Sam are fantastic and are great with telling the history. I definitely will be back. Hopefully I can spot the free roam goat that escaped the sale barn.
