Probably my least favorite park out of what I'd say is over a hundred I've been to in my life.
I feel like in the summer, this could be decent for kids, hence the slightly inflated rating, because there is a swimming hole (read: not a pool), surrounded by dirt, as well as some sports amenities.
However, do not bother coming here expecting anything remotely similar to a trail, because the absolute closest thing to that I personally witnessed was a dirt road whose sole function is to serve as a street court for adjacent houses. That road then loops around a dog park. This gets unbelievably muddy, and takes at absolute most three minutes to walk, if you take your sweet time.
I cannot personally comment much on the surrounding amenities, but they look okay - nothing to write home about. I would recommend Olen Park for a traditional park experience instead, or Seven Maples/Pickerel Point for something a little more off the...
Read moreThe new swimming pond is pretty, and clean, but I'm not impressed with the overkill rules. During the 10 min swimming break, you can't even be on the sand. You have to either be on the pavement or the grass. There's not much pavement or grass as it is. Half the pond is blocked off to swimmers because of the depth and weird bubbler things out in the middle of it. You can't bring your own food, or drink besides water, and the concessions are pricey. It's nice for a family, but it's really restricted. I'd rather go...
Read moreThe swim area is clean, and the water is well maintained. The reason my rating is so low is because they require all flume users to wear a life jacket regardless of age or if your an adult that can swim. The end of the slide is maybe 2.5ft deep max. Also if your child is under 45 in they also need to wear a life jacket even at the shallow end! Even while the parents are right next to him or her. We went and left not even 30 mins later. The rules...
