Closter Farm & Livestock Co. — Attraction in Closter

I found out about this farm a few months into my pregnancy and was so excited because I’ve always hoped there would be a farm that provided local organic produce and grass fed meats. Because they have fresh chicken, I was able to make very nutritious soups to have during my postpartum days and when they started having fresh beef, we took advantage of purchasing a few bone marrows to add to our bone broths. They also have beef tongue, which my family loves and makes tacos with.

Aside from the bounty this farm provides to the community, I love the people who run the farm. There hasn’t been a visit where I’m not treated with great energy. Anytime I ask for recommendations, I’m always met with advice on how to cook the cuts. They remember the conversations we had the last time we saw them, etc.

I just love this farm. The people that run it are essential to our community. They provide the opportunity for us to eat in season fresh produce straight from the source. Sometimes they offer items that are outside of my comfort zone but they always provide helpful tips on how to prepare them Additionally, I like that they work with other local vendors to expand what they could provide to us. I've gone to farmers markets for years and I could honestly say that this is the best one stop shop for everything. There may be an increased price for some items, but the benefits are worth it and frankly you can taste...

Absolutely loved the food here at Closter Farm & Livestock! I got some salad greens and tomatoes but would have gotten way more of their organic vegetables and organic meat if I had room in my car. Their food is so healthy and nutritious, but even more importantly, it is DELICIOUS. Excellent for salads, grilling, soups, or literally anything in between. I constantly recommend to all my NYC and NJ friends to stop by Closter to check out what they have to offer, since the staff is friendly, the farm is gorgeous, and as I've said, the quality of the food is really great. Cannot recommend coming here...
