We have bought several quality pieces from Koerner Furniture store over the last 10 to 11 years. Today, we still have the furniture in our living room, dining room and bedroom.
Most recently, we bought a beautiful Sheesham wood kitchen table from Mary at the Koerner Furniture Store in Coeur d’Alene. Mary was knowledgeable about the store's various products (we were looking at several different types of display cabinets/bookcases and kitchen tables), and she really took time to go over a variety of options about the different furniture vendors/manufacturers that Koerner's sells (Mary even called one of the Amish manufacturers to determine if it could/would modify a shelf backing on one of the display cabinets -- this is the type of service that is so meaningful when making a investment in quality wood furniture that will be with you for 15-20+ years). Mary also showed us a variety of color/stain options for the table and cabinets we were considering--again, she was so helpful in helping work through the decision-making process. Ultimately, I didn't purchase the Amish cabinet and table because while leaving I saw a Porter Designs Taos Collection table in Sheesham wood and purchased it -- it was just different and eye-catching (and also a quality solid wood table with a unique hidden extension leaf).
We will keep going back to Koerner's as it occasionally has interesting, unique pieces and generally a lot of other solid quality furniture. We'd also seek out Mary's help again. She is amazing--a consummate professional.
Also, a shout out to the two delivery gentlemen who came to downtown CDA on a crowded, hot Tuesday afternoon in August. First, we live on a busy downtown corner but they found parking and didn't complain when I showed up about 5 minutes late to show them the way to our condo (they still had other deliveries but did not get upset thank you and sorry). Second, it was easier for them to go across the grass and through our back patio door and, thus, they were accommodating in doing such. Third, they were so careful when bringing in and assembling so as not to damage the floor or the new table.
Thank you...
Read moreMy fiance and I recently purchased a house and we had to buy all new furniture. We had worked with Koerners neighboring store Comfort Suites and although we bought a couch from them we were extremely disappointed in the service. The sales pitches were misleading and the furniture was not delivered on time. That was when we decided to try out Koerners for our bed and bedroom furniture. Our first sales person was a woman and she was awesome! She was extremely patient, and gave us her real opinion on the quality of the furniture. We ended up purchasing the bed and bedframe at a killer deal. The same set at a furniture store in Sandpoint was $800 more. A few weeks later I came back to purchase the night stand and chest to my set. The had the nightstand in stock and even though there policy on what furniture they had in stock was changing they still have me the in store price saving me $100. Mike or Mark the rep that sold me the chest and nightstand was also very helpful. He told me about their layaway program which allowed me to be able to afford the chest. The chest had to be shipped and he gave me a call within the time-frame he said it would take. I am so in love with the furniture! It is a solid set that will last us a long time. Tim the owner... was great. I don't understand why he is getting so many bad reviews. He was very friendly and advised the sales reps of the deals and prices that he could offer. Also, if the sales reps seem to follow you, it's not because they think you are going to steal...it's because they are sales reps. They don't want another rep to take the sale because they are...
Read moreMy wife and I ordered a new sofa and love seat last July and specifically requested black cup holders for the love seat console and were assured that was not an issue. The furniture was delivered just before Thanksgiving (as expected). Unfortunately, the cup holders were ugly chrome. The issue was promptly reported to the delivery manager by the delivery team and to our sales representative by us. I need to state that all of our experience with the sales representative and delivery teams was excellent.
Ultimately, the owner, Tim Koerner, refused to correct the cup holder situation even though the replacement cup holders cost only $12. Thankfully, the sales manager did authorize a full refund for the set. If the ownership will not pay $12 to correct their mistake, what is the chance they will stand behind their product when something else goes wrong. I guess Tim would rather try to sell $6,000 in used furniture (or maybe he tried to pass it off as new) than purchase a $12 cup holder set. Makes absolutely no sense...but as we have told our story to our friends, neighbors, and coworkers, we have learned that "Tim as always been like that!" CAVEAT EMPTOR!
We returned the furniture and bought at another local family owned store. Our new furniture is also made in the USA, has a much longer warranty than La-Z-Boy, and...
