From the outside entrance, looks can be deceiving. Once inside, it really is a full-fledged museum complete with early age aircrafts and an ERCO cub plane (impressive). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The admission price is $4.00 for adults. Children, I did not check. On this day, there were plenty of children probably because of the time of day, around noon on the weekend. Really quite informative and there are plenty of places to sit, thank goodness! There is also a real bird's eye view of the runway inside. Look forward to at least 1 to 1 1/2 hours if you plan on reading. The museum is kid interactive. Bathrooms are clean. Even though I have been to the airfield many times, never bothered with the museum. There is an upper-level information walkway and an elevator on one end. I can see there being a large conglomeration of kids here at times, so if you want peace go in the afternoon close to closing after school hours. ...
Read moreGreat little aviation museum. It was a treat to see the airplanes both inside and out. Admission is only $5 for adults so it's very reasonable. Bathrooms are located right at the entrance and clean. There were lots of smaller children here (3 and under) -- there are lots of play areas for them to play in, and under 2 years old is free admission. The museum itself is good for older kids too, with lots of information about the planes displayed and 4 flight simulators! There's also a couple of planes you can get inside, flight related costumes you can dress up in, and a scavenger hunt that even my teenagers had fun with! This is a small museum but we spent about 2 hours there, including lunch which we had inside in the mezzanine. There are also plenty of picnic tables to eat at outside, which could be fun on a clear day when you can watch planes take off! Nice way to spend a couple hours. The exhibits are well...
Read moreThe staff is HORRIBLE. When I got there, there was no receptionist. We were forced to wait. We waited 10 mins, then I decided to walk in to see if he was inside the exhibit. I found him, and he accused me of not paying and disobeying the rules. I payed him, and brought my friends in. 10 mins later, he finds us and tells us that our time was up, and forced us to leave. He told us we had just arrived 10 mins before closing time. What a scam! The exhibit was so small, I got though more than half in 10 mins. Its not worth the $5 per person. The google pictures account for half of the exhibit anyways. Its actually more exciting to browse the history of aviation through the web than to go to this museum. If you wish to go to a museum, the Smithsonian Air and Space is far better, and just a metro ride away. (the tickets are...
