They have an event every mother's day...food trucks, near a hundred, if not more, of artisans have booths including jewelry makers, photographers, wood workers, bakers, candy makers, bee keepers with honey products, civil war reenactments-men and women dressed from the time period, canons booming, guns, etc....petting zoo n bouncy houses for children. This park is awesome! A nice little escape from the noise and traffic of the city. There are several places to sit and a very nice wrap around trail through the woods. Out of all parks in colonial heights, this is the best. Has it all. Trails, fishing, wild life, shelters and picnic tables. Lots of history. No BBQ pits, but seen other people bring their own. Can be busy at times especially on weekends and nice days out. If have pets keep them on leash. Some people don't and have seen two to three dogs...
