One of the best parks in Colorado Springs for kids. The canal trail system is paved for miles. There's expansive mountain biking trails designed to meander in-and-out of the creek beds which interconnect and tie to the primary trail system. The trail system and park is full of large trees, fully grown with awesome shade canopies. Playground system for children is extensive with rail glides, ninja warrior climbing stuff, slides, hanging bar obstacles, swings, and climbing walls... everything that you would want out of a park for kids 3-16... Plus huge trees for shade accompanied by plentiful seating. On the rec side, there's a handful of soccer fields, (3) baseball diamonds, and a badass winter sledding hill. The parks primary open areas are flat, so kids learning how to bike, skateboarding, rollerblading and etc have e a pretty easy time getting around. There are (3) paved loops, and adjacent dirt trails on the creek; a 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, and 1 mile. All of the loops can be seen in their entirety from the childrens park play area, which also has gazebos to serve as really great picnic areas. Added bonus, a YMCA is located adjacent to the park. This is the first time I brought my kids to the park. They played for hours on their bikes. We will be back A LOT!

Update 7/8/23. Only one portable restroom. Not services well and no other available restroom on a Saturday. Update 6/24/23 both restrooms closed and no number to call to get them opened up. My brother doesn't understand the port a potty situation. On top of that no toilet paper in porta potty. Luckily I come prepared. My brother refuses to leave park until 10 pm when it is completely dark. Imagine being someone who doesn't understand everything, has to use restroom, and won't leave because he doesn't think we are coming back... Not disability friendly. I love this park. My brother is 19 and has severe autism. Everyone is very nice to him and understanding. It is so nice to have open bathrooms. He likes to sit at the table near the bathrooms. It is really great to walk at and allow him to sit away from the crowds and play on his iPads and what not. The only thing I hate is the fast bikers on the sidewalk and almost running into him. It is really messed up with that.

This is a great park and it spans a relatively large area. It has a great inline hockey rink! It's kept up well by the city and provides hours of fun and exercise. They even provide lighting to get in your hockey fix at night. It's easy to find and located near tons of other fun activities within the park. You can explore the other parts of the park and find tennis, frisbee golf, baseball and softball fields, a great trail system that runs aloing a creek, indoor swimming and a huge playground fit for all ages. There is also a very large grassy area that can accommodate multiple soccer games. I think on average there is typically about 6 games going spanning across all ages.

Cottonwood Park has quickly become our family's go-to destination. It's the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression, and we couldn't be happier with our visits. What truly stands out for us is the exceptional playground that my daughter absolutely adores. The variety of play structures and the clean, safe environment make it a kid's paradise. As a parent, seeing our daughter so delighted and engaged is a real joy.

But it's not just the playground that makes Cottonwood Park special. The park's well-maintained grounds, peaceful walking trails, and convenient facilities create a welcoming atmosphere for families. Whether we're enjoying a picnic, taking a leisurely stroll, or just relaxing in the shaded areas, there's something here for everyone.

Cottonwood Park has become a place where cherished family memories are made, and we can't recommend it enough. If you're looking for a fantastic family-friendly park with an amazing playground, Cottonwood Park is the place to be. We're sure your family will love it just as...
