The best place to see the river is probably from the bridges across the river, but they are sadly fenced in, because I guess concerns over safety ( whether we are overly protective is another topic :) There are some wildflowers here, but the park is named after the school, which may not have been named due to a massive selection of wildflowers. But there's some butterflies and dragonflies and such, so probably worth bringing a camera in case something catches your fancy. I like that they don't mow the whole park, there's "natural" grass areas, which I found appealing. Plenty of standard green grass as well. Fairly clean park, nice looking playground. Playground has a 6 to 7 foot artificial climbing rock with handholds. Has some tables and a gazebo type shelter. Flat paths which I believe connect to the sand creek trail, so should satisfy walkers. Lots of sidewalks to walk through and around. Two bridges that cross over a creek or a beautiful view. Trails that lead out to a longer trail behind the housing area. Lots of room for exploring and walking.
