A serene, delightful place filled with more prairie dogs that I think I have seen in one place in my life, hundreds and hundreds of them, all with their little holes right beside the path. Admire their cuteness while being wary of them. There is a lovely lake here, but it is a bit of a hike from the southern side, and the hike is relatively linear, but it is not unpleasant, and one passes by an eagle viewing area and wide swaths of high grass while tramping northward through the meadows. Read moreWe have always had a great time. Beautiful location, enormous pumpkin fields, hay bale maze, fun things for the kids to climb on and take pictures, animals. There are more activities on the weekends. Be sure to attend before the temperatures drop below freezing. I find the pumpkin prices a bit high. Also there is a connecting path that leads to the much larger Rock Creek trails, but that was closed for whichever reason I don't know. The area is beautiful and fairly quiet.
