Stearns Lake — Attraction in Colorado

January 2020: Wouldn't recommend it for fishing (mostly carp), but for birding/photography, hiking/biking/walking your dog or just chillin, it is perfect! Eagles, all types of hawks, meadowlarks, red-winged black birds, king fishers, Canadian Geese, Snow geese, Migrating Pelicans and your occasional Coyotee. Xskiing also great to do here, nice and flat. Clean restrooms. Keep your dog on a leash. It is consistantly patrolled by park rangers. Have fun! One Pick nick table with grill, some parking and restrooms....

Unless you like to fish there is nothing much to do here. There are some dirt/gravel biking trails but that's about it. Google maps will tell you to go through Rock Creek Farms to get here by car but that's a private road. You need to go to Dillon road and turn left on 104 which is a dirt road. The lake is at the end...

Nice trails. Good views. Pretty flat. Crushed gravel. Good for runs or walks. Parking can be tight on weekend mornings. It is a...
