January 2020: Wouldn't recommend it for fishing (mostly carp), but for birding/photography, hiking/biking/walking your dog or just chillin, it is perfect! Eagles, all types of hawks, meadowlarks, red-winged black birds, king fishers, Canadian Geese, Snow geese, Migrating Pelicans and your occasional Coyotee. Xskiing also great to do here, nice and flat. Clean restrooms. Keep your dog on a leash. It is consistantly patrolled by park rangers. Have fun!
