This is simply an incredible point to see some magnificent mountain views. Doesn’t really face Boulder so this particular overlook isn’t suited for that. However, you won’t be disappointed if you take the drive up the mountain to this spot for some really awesome panoramas that you would normally only see in a national park like Yosemite or the Rocky Mountains. A big plus is that it is very close to Boulder and only about a 15 minute drive up the mountain to the overlook. When you drive back down, there are some points that you can stop and get a better view of Boulder from above. Keep in mind that these overlooks on the mountain have a five dollar parking fee so be prepared to bring a little cash and pay that at the stations when you see them. A lot of visitors may not know about this, so definitely take some time to check this out. You...

Wedding/Elopement Photographer here! I can't recommend Lost Gulch enough for couples looking for a palace to have their ceremony or just few photos of their day!

The area provides several different offerings in terrain, from the stunning overlook, to the nearby trees that are either covered with wildflowers in the summer, or snow in the Winter months. The Overlook itself is an incredible location for both Sunrise & Sunset, but I highly recommend going for sunrise, as it will be quite chaotic just about anytime after 9:00 AM, especially in the late afternoons & evenings.

Note If you are looking to have your wedding or elopement at this location, you will need a permit from the City of Boulder...

Decided to visit this site during a recent visit to Estes Park and Boulder areas.

It's a little bit of a drive up to this site, so make sure the roads are dry and not icey or it's snowing. The turns are sharp, and the climb is vertical, which is why a good working vehicle and brakes are a MUST !

On our visit, there were two weddings being conducted at different sites within minutes of each other.

I will note that the view at the top is gorgeous. The picture I attached only shows one view angle, but there are others.

I hope your experience is as good as mine and above drive safely as there are some...

Thrilling experience. It was a cold, bright day when we were on our way from Estes Park to Denver. We were sight seeing and came across this famous location. The drive to this place itself spoke a lot about it. Couldn’t fathom the sight of 8,000 and 14,000 feet tall mountains right in front of you. Try to be there on clear days so you can get a better view of the taller peaks. There is a parking fee of $5 at the location. The parking area is small, might fit 5-7 cars, so get there early on high rush days. Golden hour is a great time to be there but be mindful of the tricky descend which takes about 20-25 mins.
