I skied Loveland last weekend and had a blast, good level of greens for beginners and Blues/blacks for intermediate/advanced. I just want to note I’m a lifelong skier whose skied in numerous places (CO, NE USA, NZ, Canada, CA) so I feel like I know what I’m talking about I skied here on a Friday and then Keystone on Saturday and can honestly say my experience at Loveland for the money was way better than keystone. If you’re a family I recommend Loveland over keystone to be honest. While Loveland is smaller there’s enough to ski for 1-2 day ski trip. The trails were well marked and groomed. It wasn’t as crowded and the price was WAY BETTER. Spent 129 total for ski rental (I have boots) and lift pass (94$). For that price Loveland IS WORTH IT, if it goes higher idk to be honest but as of 2022 for the price the value is amazing. PROS: EXCELLENT beginner ski price where you get a valley pass, lessons and skis for 150$. Great price for beginners GREAT PRICE: this is one of the few independent non Vail/ikon resorts and it’s 94$ to get a pass day of on a Friday and rentals are reasonable. It would have been 139$ with rentals but I had boots so I paid 129$ for the day Surprisingly big mountain, there’s the valley and the basin and you can definitely ski here for a day or 2 before seeing everything. Crowds-everyone wants to go to big name resorts, so this perfectly capable mountain gets overlooked. This place is great and underrated Cons: ate on the Valley side of the mountain and the food was cafeteria level garbage but still the garbage at Loveland was cheaper than the garbage at keystone That said Keystone has a lovely village to get non garbage food and Loveland doesn’t so that’s the one way keystone was better. Difficult greens, while I’m a lifelong skier I took my friends who had one lesson and the green was a struggle for them, mainly easy except for 1 or 2 steep parts, but overall they got down, just was harder than I thought it should be The park could use more decent jumps, everything led to a grind/wasn’t any big jumps. Also usually park crew will put some jumps in more difficult runs on the side of the trail and I didn’t really find those here Overall this resort is the best bang for your buck for non season pass holders. The skiing is great, it has beginner friendly pricing (if you can only ride greens do you really need to go to vail?). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming here if you’re a family on a budget, new to the mountains or just don’t want to pay an exorbitant price to ski on a crowded mountain.

By far the best ski area out of the 3 we've been to so far in Colorado. I know there are bigger names out there, but for Loveland's price, location, features, and crowds, you cannot beat it. Had I known about Loveland and what it had to offer when we 1st decided to ski in Colorado, it would have been our 3rd visit here. But I am glad we finally chose it for our latest trip over A-basin. Considering the the skill level of the kids, they were able to adapt quickly and my youngest was already going up Lift 9 with me to the top of the mountain on the 2nd day. I must say, the views at the top of Lift 4 and 9 are worth the price of the lift ticket alone. They are spectacular and breathtaking. Loveland has every possible terrain and trail type for any level skier/boarder, from greens, blues, moguls, powder, trees, terrain parks, bowls, tundra, everything you'd want to experience - they have. Most of all, even during our spring break visit, the lift lines were non-existent, and we were on the lift chair within 1-2 minutes. Even with 2 days of skiing and hot-lapping, we didn't even get enough time to enjoy the far lift #8. I was also glad we chose the Basin/All mountain pass, over the Valley only pass as well. The Valley was PACKED with beginners and we only went up Lift 3 one time, then then decided to go back to the Basin for the rest of our time there. The cafe was not too bad either in terms of quality of food. It was pretty busy for the both days we stopped in for lunch, and finding a table for 5 was a little challenge. In all, I will definitely be visiting Loveland again with family and friends. I highly recommend it to out-of-state visitors who actually want to spend time on the slopes and not waiting in LONG lines just to say they went to one of the bigger name resorts in the area. It was definitely a great experience for the family.

Great place, special. Free cat 🐈 ride to the Continental Divide and ski 🎿 down from there was great. There is an advanced intermediate way back down staring by going back on Cat track up, easy. After more difficult but advanced Intermediate should be able to do. Need to sign an extra wavier to be able to get an orange access card good for the session. Was easy, fast and not busy or real wait to go up with cat. Rides started at 10:30am until 2pm. Rides are only run now Wednesday to Sunday. No Monday or Tuesday. The National Park Ranger ski down and explenations was great. Had 6 Rangers going along. Mostly one, really good, gave lecture. Program developed over 2 years by 2 Rangers that were there. Uses lots of great additional teaching aids, maps, pictures, puppets chikedy bird, real educational pellets of animals that you get to touch including even a real Lynx fur. Super great program but the starting time needs improvement otherwise the program kills almost all the ski day. Started at 1:30pm for 1.5 hours, ended 3:15 pm after 4 lecture segments with great demonstrations stops along ski down. I think would be much better to start at 3pm and make last lecture demonstration at 4pm at base after lifts stop. This way have 30+ minutes longer, or more, and leave almost all day for ski until 3pm when start at the top. Program was offered only once in 2 weeks in April 2017 when I visited. We had big group of 20+ people that were very interested and ranged from young adults to older people about 50% mix. Great education, good if can do more and also make a shorter version.
