Great place to get a good walk in and see some birds. We also saw tracks that we believe to be from coyotes and a cougar. There are multiple paths you can take, depending on how long you want to walk. It's all unpaved, so the paths are currently mixed snow, ice, and mud (mid-February).

It is nice to walk on the North side of the river with no bicycles whizzing by. Woodsy with lots of hawks and other birds of prey hunting in the ponds. A few benches are welcome spots to rest and drink some water. Usually only a few people on the trail

I walked with my two pups a morning in December and we only encountered a few people. We had a peaceful time and I appreciated the trash bin in the parking lot for dog pooh, there was also a station with free doggie bags.

Beautiful area and in town, lovely sounds from nature. Four stars are not for the fault of the area rather people using this area. We arrived shortly after 8 am and it appeared as though two individuals pushing bikes had camped out here. They had rucksacks full of gear and what appeared to be bed rolls. We came across the second individual because they left their bicycle in the middle of the trail, after my dog alerted to our left we saw a man was standing and pulling up his pants. One can assume the nature of his business, however the vaulted toilets were no more than a quarter mile away. The sense of an emergency is not lost on me.

There are a couple blind turns on the trail as well, I get it we are in the woods. I do prefer a slightly more open area like River Bends and Araphao Bend.

Much appreciation for doggie...

I was really disappointed with the fishing it seems like they have let go of the upkeep of the ponds and it's very hard to find a spot to fish in the good pond and if you want to fish you can only catch the sunfish in the smaller pond. I'm sure there is bigger fishing in the smaller pond but I wish that they would groom a little bit better at the bigger pond we can catch bigger fish and have a better spot to fish and not have to worry about being directly in...

Years ago I fished this area. The front pond remains a marginal fishery and the area less than ideal. The modifications to the back area and flooding have resulted in a mostly inaccessible area to fishing, much smaller and heavily vegetated. There is access to the river which is the highlight of the area. The trail is dirt and not all that scenic. Don't figure...
