This is a fantastic and safe [Family] Place for Education about the Earth, the Universe, the Sky, the Stars, the Moon, the gorgeous Black Holes, Pilots, Astronomy, Astronauts and much else what is to learn and to explore up there in SPACE. It is super convenient to look up online (Planetarium Shows) and to enter the DOME for FREE. My recommendation is to go there at least 30 Minutes earlier and to bring a water bottle with you. Restrooms are to find right at the entrance/exits and a "DJ/HOST" is located in the back of the room who gives sporadic announcements.
This place seems to be very welcoming to me due to the fact that anyone can enter the Air Force Academy and be a part of the Self-Guided Tour. [ As long as you do not bring any weapons! or bombs! to these fancy facilities which you'll get scanned through at the beginning of you entering THEIR Premises. ]
This place is famous for Military Sight Seeing Tours where you can hop on Tour Buses which cruise you through their AirForceStations (as I have heard) in order to get educated about "Leaders of Characters". You can also go on guided hiking and biking trails, sit on benches and relax to unwind & to study or sip on a juice drink you've purchased at one of their snack shops/visitor centers. You do have the ability to watch Theater Shows that show how life is/was in the MILITARY. Next to that, you can check out Gift Shops and buy some Historical Military Accessories or you can get information through their business centers and literally walk through their conference rooms.
Next to the DOME SHOW, I did enjoy visiting the DOOLITTLE HALL today and I must mention that Ms. "Shella" at Station No. 7 was obviously The Nicest! (Information Desk Staff Member - Employee/Lady) I have encountered out there. She genuinely smiled at me, greeted me with kind gestures and pleasantly looked directly in my eyes while giving the right visitor instructions and...
Read moreI saw the Live sky show, I recommend it. I am an adult, with bit of knowledge of astronomy, and I learned things, so you may too. The kids seems to enjoy it as well. They have a dome, and digitally project the night sky, views of the solar system, and views outside the solar system. They even zoomed out to get an idea of what mankind can see, visually and with radio telescopes. The Live Sky presentation was from a person trained in astronomy, and she answered some questions at the end. I got there early, and people may have been turned away, the auditorium is not large. They also show IMAX movies. They don't seem to offer public shows on weekends, so people who work weekdays may have to wait for a day off work. My GPS misled me, be sure to read the directions on the planetarium page. Many thanks to the excellent astronomer and educational show. I saw planetariums in my youth, which were mostly metal tubes with a light source. And I loved them. But this is a modern computerized presentation that can start at the earth, and zoom out to view the milky way, and...
Read moreThe shows are great. My only issue is how Judie karah treated the individuals I look after. She was extremely rude when we were trying to find seating, one person offered to stand up so we could get passed and she told him not to even after the person repeatedly told is it was fine. She then told us we needed to hurry so she could start but proceeded to let non disabled people interupt and stay standing. She told us we should be gotten there earlier (we were already early) but they had seats reserved that no one showed up to take. None of us feel like we deserve a certain seat, but we were trying to fill in one's that were empty and she just wasn't allowing it unless it was in the very front. She seemed put...
