Boone County History & Culture Center — Attraction in Columbia Township

Great place to see how people lived before electricity, there is an exhibit of clothing so you can see how they dressed, and tools for everyday living. Cool little heritage museum to explore. Neat old buildings to walk around and on certain days they open up so you can explore. Recently had a celebration back in the museum that we rented out. A nice facility, but a lot more emphasis on art/local artists than history during my visit. The exhibit I specifically was attracted to because of their web site was replaced just before I got there. I don't think I read their schedule wrong, but it's too late now. Though the site is next to U.S. 63 it takes more maneuvering than you might expect to actually reach. Check a map first.
