Fort Jackson — Attraction in Columbia

I went to Fort Jackson in the middle of November of 05. They call it relaxing Jackson but it wasn’t relaxing. Lol!! I absolutely loved basic and my drill sergeant. Drill sergeant Hollingsworth. I still remember we were Charlie company and they were having the marching competition. Drill sergeant wasn’t worried about practicing for it. While everyone else was out marching and practicing we were learning different combat techniques. We asked if we were going to practice marching and he told us he was training soldiers to survive in combat not to walk around all pretty. If you ever need an ID made for your child and you’re a man never take them to FT Jackson. The older black lady at the front desk was very disrespectful and degrading. She asked me if this was my daughter while looking her up and down like an object. She then went on to ask me well where is her mother. I told her I don’t think that’s your business. I have had custody of my daughter and she’s been in Deers since she was born 13 years ago. She then tells me well you need her mother to get her a ID card. Very disrespectful and degrading situation with that lady especially in front of my teenage daughter. Gate guards are still trash. They need to teach them all the same rules I got turned around one morning because their “not allowing vets on only active duty and family” lies. then all of a sudden I can get on post then I’m not allowed to have anyone else cause “the card is only for the vet no one else” now there are weeks where I don’t need to get my passenger a pass then I need to then I don’t then I do then family day they want you to have a pass at one gate not the other so do the families also need a pass??? No cause how will they get it 😤 it’s stupid be consistent man
