Very nice looking and well kept park. I didn't personally have good luck fishing here but I've heard some folks do well here catching hybrid bass and some other species. Great place for picnics and family gatherings I would say. Very large park with a ton of parking along the length of the place. Park extends before and after the spillway with a road connecting the upper and lower sections. I had a fun time there but I didn't really see too many other people there while I visited. The river that runs through the park is the Scioto river and it carries in depth and bottom surface material from rock to mud with light bottom vegetation. There are places to eat nearby and it is easily accessable for people of all ages and conditions. I believe there are boat launches here and nearby where you could put in a boat or canoe or kayak. I saw structures with picnic tables underneath and trashcans although I have not seen any restrooms there. I assume with the size of the park that there would be restrooms there though. It is located on 257 which also goes by the name of Riverside Drive. If this spot is for fishing, there are other spots along the river both north and south if you do not do well here. I would suggest at this location since the water is always moving and chalky with low visibility using a chartreuse colored twister tail grub or swimbait. I also have notice a lot of people use live bait and cut bait here. There are always shad here easily available to use as cut bait.

Great place to fish and walk, real community feeling here. Safe and welcoming. Only porta-potties if you need to use the restroom and there are multiple picnic areas. You can drive all the way through from the south to the north end but a lot of people walk so be careful if you do and drive slowly. Also there is a ton of wildlife here. Please be mindful and don't move the snails, or any wildlife out of their natural habitat. You can usually watch the rowing teams in the morning which is really cool too. Enjoy your time here!

Recently went to the park to look for buckeyes. I've been here a hundred times or more. The trees are beautiful right now. The paths were nice for walking. Cars were too fast for so many pedestrians and the signs still aren't marked very clearly for parking and entry/exit. I've always loved the concrete picnic benches. But people are absolute pigs leaving cigarette butts and trash with trash cans close to the tables. Overall, you can't beat the trees this time of year by the river. There are a few porta pottys.

There are plenty of good trails to hike along, though most of them are not "official"--just paths cut through undergrowth near the river by many visitors. There are great views of the river, with lots of wildlife, especially birds. In the fall, the colors on the trees here are fantastic. More than enough parking, unless you visit on a nice weekend in the fall. Also in the fall, on weekends, some of the local high schools have crew races, and that can congest the area.

It was so nice to be in a natural park such as this. For more than 1 week- I tried to find the space place to cross Riverside drive as a pedestrian. Nottingham Road has exactly this crossing- but even then, when the Ped Xing sign was on and the lights turned red, a driver at a considerable speed refused to stop or slow down. Anyway, other than this, it was all great at 7am.

This has been one of my favorite parks for over 10 years. I love the walking path because you have trees on one side and the lake on the other. Lots of picnic tables throughout park. The one con is that you share the path with cars, so I always walk on one side or the other and sometimes off the road to let cars pass. Seeing the dam is always a treat.
