Just went for the first time two nights ago. It was very nice concept. I do think it’s a bit overpriced. Not necessarily a $50 per couple experience. It was very very pretty. The trail is nice and clean. Very well kept. The staff walks the trail which I thought was pretty nice. Lights were beautiful. Great location. There are only a couple down sides including lots of empty space between lights. While there are lights to light your way the whole time, the light attractions see to be pretty spread out. Not a big flaw at all, just something I would say if they added more to, would boost this experience way up. It would be cool to see something maybe in the forest also. Overall, really nice but could have more to it. There is lots of room to grow with it.
Second is the concession stand. This concession stand gets a zero star. Very little selection and extremely expensive. We paid $2.50 for a fruit snack pack not realizing what it was. $10 total for snacks you can buy at the store for less than $2. Mini bags of chips were $2.50 as well. Look at what you’re buying before. You’ll probably change your mind. Maybe that’s why there really wasn’t anyone buying.
Last, too many people allowed to go at once. Crowed to the point you can’t stop for more than 30 seconds without a crowd coming right for you. Makes it pretty stressful when you can’t stop and walk at your own pace.
Overall, it was awesome. If we came again, I would come very late at night so we could enjoy the walk. I would have loved to take my time and look a little more without having a crowd directly behind us. Also wouldn’t buy any snacks there again :)
It would be nice if they offered a night solely for Date Night so you could experience the interactive parts of it. We weren’t able to because kids were swarmed every single...
Read moreIt wasn't fun for us but it would have been. We kept getting mad at people crowding us. Some will say we should have stayed home if we were worried about social distancing but the website said that it wouldn't be an issue and we had no reason to doubt it.
The group in front of us took off their masks as soon as we got in. A lot people crowded the cool looking interactive stations so we sadly skipped them. We stepped aside a few times for people who'd come up too close behind us to let them pass.
I always hate the people who find everything to be upset about. We were just excited to do something outside of the house and feel let down. I think the issue was just that there wasn't anyone to enforce standards. We saw three grade-school looking kids in yellow shirts sitting at different locations and an adult who'd passed us walking the opposite direction. Maybe we showed up at shift change or the kids were watching spots while adults took bathroom breaks. Maybe this only happened to us. It was just disappointing especially because it'd cost us $22 each which is on the high end in the first place. Some will roll their eyes and say we're being unreasonable but realize that the problem is them not doing what they said they would, not whether we're allowed to be worried about getting sick.
The music is the best part. It's integrated really well in almost every part of the trail. Walk slowly if possible. It's over kind of quick.
We went at 10:30 on a...
Read morePRO’s: parking was easy, bathrooms, and a donut truck ( that day specifically, trucks can change), and bathrooms in the beginning before you head in you show your tickets to people up front, no issues -pathway is with driveway dime size rocks, and of course because it’s in the woods there’s going to be some twigs and leaves. Our bigger wheeled stroller did just fine, zero issues. -age range was literally everyone from elderly to babies, but I definitely think this place is great for kids 8-12 yrs old, or a sweet couples date night -We walked at a medium pace without stopping and it took us 35-40 minutes. If you go off a few short off-trails, open elf/gingerbread doors, or stop to play games for the kids it would definitely take longer ( somewhere between 1 -1.5 hrs) -midway down there is a food truck ( also Carl’s hot cider) and a portajohn ; there were a few heat torches where you could stop and warm up
CON’s: you are the grinch and don’t like being around a lot of people
**Overall, great experience. Can’t wait to go again and will probably go every couple of years. We went to the Aurora show but there is another style one that has a Haunted theme for Halloween. Dress warm, prepare to spend about an hour, bring your camera, and maybe bring a bag or stroller of snacks and a thermos...
