I have lived within a mile of Multi-lakes for 30 years. I once was a member even, until showing up for the most unorganized "work Bee" weekend one could imagine. Needlessly said I skipped renewing my membership the next year. I still participated in many activities, archery league, Rifle range , skeet, and clays, but paid the extra $4.00 -$5.00 for access. Much easier to handle watching " buffoneism" from a distance knowing Im not anyway connected to it. I've had the most "average" fish fry at least a 1/2 dozen times. Would come more often but the wife doesn't care for the ambience or lack there of. But why would I expect more?. This is the most "average to low brow" private club, in Oakland County. A club who welcomes non-members graciously, but puts out the most bare bones, volunteer supported services, seemingly directed to their shrinking membership. Them old timers ( which I'm one of now) can't stop dyin! Always waiting for "someone wit da keys" A range officer, a clerk at the skeet counter, etc. June 19th went over to what looked like what was going to be a local gun show/swap meet to browse with a buddy on Saturday. Nope! A virtually unadvertised gun raffle! Even after going to their website beforehand to see what time the doors opened. NOTHING about the gun raffle, it's was called a "gun bash" on signs on Newton Rd. what ever! Didn't have time to sit all day in the rain. (Lost my appetite for gun raffles with the Shriners debacle last week) The place needs a "flannel gutting" ! And a dose of professionalism. Wake up boys! Them days are gone when you were there for the .50 cent shells of beer! Turn a page for God's sake! Maybe if you had a Pro Shop where one could purchase some ammo or even a shotgun, or a fishing rod for the kid, would maybe draw some younger and more viable members. Cause obviously you need an influx of working capital and a new mindset Remodel for God sake! Nope, nothing ever changes at Multi-lakes, same sh-t different year PS. I changed my review stars to 2 instead of 3 stars, remembering I have Jim Swish's Huron Valley gun club in New Hudson to support now. Breakfast buffet and bullets on Saturday and Sunday mornings with a free 1/2 hr time in their indoor climate controlled and computer operated range. (Out to 100yrds) Talley Ho! PSS. Their...
Read moreThis is a review for Glenmore Trails, which takes place here, but there is no clarity if they are the same business.
Purchased tickets for the entire family, a reservation to go through the Haunted Forest Walk at set date and time. One week prior to the event, we received an email with an excuse starting that due to weather (doesn't weather always happen?) and poor planning, they were not going to be able to open in time hence our reservations were null and void. Rather than automatically providing either a refund or a way to reschedule, which would have been acceptable, they say, no worries, just show up anytime after we open and you'll be able to get in, first come first serve.
First off, I did not purchase a "First come, first served" ticket, it was a reservation. Due to me being a handicapped individual, I cannot just "sit" around waiting in line that could take an hour or more, thus I prefer to purchase events with set times, so that I do not aggravate my condition.
Second, not providing an automatic refund (The item purchased was not delivered, thus the transaction becomes null and void as they have taken my money, but provided nothing in return) or an option to reschedule, even if it was via phone, would have been THE RIGHT THING TO DO!
I wonder how many people made reservations, set their calendar, received the email that it was cancelled, then forgot to request a refund or just show up and Glenmore Trails just keeps their money?
My family really wants to attend, but thus far the experience has not been pleasant. I contacted them via email, but have yet to receive a response. Note, they were already supposed to be opened by now, you'd figure they'd at least staff people to handle their failure at opening on time.
I will update once I speak with management and hope to increase this rating, because thus far I am highly disappointed and am hesitant to trust this organization with my money and my safety; let's see if they will step up and do...
Read moreWe look forward to the "good old days" event every year. A whole day of family fun everything from helicopter rides to shooting a Gatling gun. Plenty of stuff for kids to do as well as adults. They have a fantastic bake sale with fresh homemade goods at very reasonable prices. Food trucks, live music, on-site camping and vendor booths with all kinds of different things.
You can go to the rifle range and shoot many different types of rifles. The experienced marksman there will help you get acquainted and you will definitely have fun shooting at Multi Lakes fantastic gun range. I was able to shoot the legendary M1 garand as well as other rifles. Ear protection is provided. Skeet-shooting was really fun. They had three clay pigeon machines going at once so you could shoot two in the air and one bouncing along the ground. The Gatling guns are replicas of the ones back in the late 1800 hundreds. There was no waiting for anything. No line to get in, no line for food no lines to shoot. When you come in you get a raffle ticket for a dollar and a chance to win $1,000.
I don't know of any place where you can walk up and fire so many different guns for such a low price. What a great experience. There are many other events through out the year. Don't miss the Friday night fish fry. Check the calendar of events at...
