My husband is the baseball fanatic and historian but I do enjoy the history. In this instance, I could have cried! What a shame! Mickey Mantle is the only reason I ever heard of Commerce, OK. You would think the town would honor and embrace the town hero in every way possible but No, they don't! RESTORE AND CARE FOR HIS BOYHOOD HOME! Mark it in a way that makes it easy to find and please, hurry and do what is necessary to prevent it from falling into total disrepair. It...

From the little rown of Commerce came one of the best switch hitters baseball will ever know. We were told the City of Commerce owns the location. The door was locked but looking into the windows you get the idea it was small, cold, and basic. The tin shed next to the house was the backstop for playing baseball with his dad, Mutt, and his grandfather. No Mickey Mantle gift shop or memorabilia, just the location of his...

We were diving along Route 66 in Oklahoma checking out things to do and we stumbled across Mickey Mantles childhood home. Pretty cool that it was just there that close to us. We drove by at night so it was kind of dark, but we still got to see the home and take some pictures. The house is closed during the day and at night and you can only take pictures from the outside. Good little stop right off...

A great piece of history for baseball fans. Look like they need a lot of help to keep this place in shape. I would of left a donation if they had a box. Also need to let people in to see it. Look into a push button door lock that people could send you a picture of their licence and be givin the code to go in and look around. Just a idea.
