Our camping gear was stolen while staying at the Albany/Corvallis KOA campground. The first night we went to bed with some of our food and a box of our camping gear out on the picnic table. When we woke up, the tote with all of our cooking pots and pans, utensils, propane, plates, coffee maker, food, batteries, my son’s medication, you name it, gone. I went to the office when they opened to report it. They said there was nothing they could do. A refund on our site would have been nice to help with replacing the gear, or at the very least an upgrade to one of the empty cabins so we could sleep without worrying about being robbed again. But they said they have no responsibility with theft, their cameras weren’t working, and they basically shrugged their shoulders. I had everything I could cook with stolen and with two kids, no way to feed them. We had to go into town to get food for the kids and try to replace our gear with substandard Walmart alternatives. This was our first of three nights booked at the campground. The people at the office are nice, they apologized, but the manager made it clear they wouldn’t be doing anything besides “taking the report.” I reported it to the Sheriff’s office as well to have the crime reflected on local crime statistics and so the campground has the police report (Sheriff’s deputy dropped it off at the office directly). I am also posting here as a warning to future campers. There are no signs or information warning campers to keep their gear inside their tents/cars/RVs at night, so I guess it’s up to the crime victims to let others know. So here I am. Either don’t stay here or make sure you leave NOTHING out at night. The following day, we tried to move on from the bad experience and try to enjoy the remaining vacation. My husband and 8-year-old son went to swim in the pool. My son had goggles and found poop at the bottom of the pool. The office lady came out scooped it up and confirmed it was poop and had everyone get out. The following morning the pool was reopened. Considering it wasn’t just a solid mass, but specks were floating as well, I pity anyone who got in the pool after that. Disgusting. It looked like it had been there a while. The next day, my husband and son went to play the mini golf. The boards are completely rotten and it’s impossible to actually play. They not only shouldn’t charge money for it, but they should shut it down if they’re not willing to fix it. Lastly, a train goes through 1-3 times per night with a very loud horn blasting, and the road noise is constant. Might be fine in an RV, but impossible to sleep in a tent. We left a day early because the experience was so awful. Any refund for the final night? Nope. Don’t waste your money here. You may get robbed, swim in poop water, and not sleep for days.

This place was not at all worth the price paid. If you have anything bigger than a three man tent don't bother. We were five people and our tent didn't fit. Luckily we had been traveling with some family that had a motor home and they allowed us to sleep in their motor home with them. Some fire pits were under trees with dangerously low hanging branches. Our campsite was filled with trash, or toddler is currently in the pick up everything and show mom and dad phase so that was a nightmare trying to keep her out of the and clean things up before she got to everything. They have a long list of rules(really I am all for rules, but with the price and the rules it's like they think they are too good for you). The lighting outside the bathrooms was poor and unsafe. The bathrooms could use a little work(and slippery when wet signs, I could see the floor was wet so no big deal but still weird they didn't have them out) the biggest kicker is they have a basically accessible yurt on the property yet the bathroom was not handicap accessible. Yes they had fall bars installed but the bathroom stall was not large enough for anyone who needs any kind of assistance or who uses any kind of device such as a walker or wheel chair. The shower stalls were even smaller. The toilet also wobbled. There were multiple fans installed in the bathroom but only one functioning. It seemed to be a duct tape will fix anything type of place with not a lot of thought going into repairs. The shower heads are cheap and kind just spit at you. And there was a sky light in the bathroom that was just a piece of plywood. They do have some amenities such as a pool, miniature golf, ice cream socials, laundry facilities however nothing is included in your stay, it all costs extra. The cost also only includes two campers, each additional person over 12 costs extra. The pool was closed when we were there and they were down to just the laundry machines. It also floods a lot when it rains so it's better off to not tent camp here. I wish I got pictures of the campsite but I only have pictures of the bathroom.

The Albany/Corvallis KOA is a nice campground, but it has a few drawbacks. It is located about 10 minutes off the I-5 freeway, so it's not super close, but it's acceptable. There is minor road noise, as it is located off a two-lane highway. The campground's pull-throughs are gravel, but they are narrow and shorter than most KOAs in the middle of nowhere. The camping sites are nice, but they have little tree coverage, if any, and most of the grass at the sites is dead. The park has a pool, which was almost full, and a mini-golf course from the 80s, which was a bit dangerous due to the hornets. The entire park has a hornet problem, which will likely upset your flavored beverage or dinner. Overall, the Albany/Corvallis KOA is a nice campground, but it's important to be aware of the drawbacks before you book your stay. Here is a more detailed breakdown of the pros and cons: Pros: Clean and well-maintained campground Friendly staff Nice pool Mini-golf course Cons: Located a few miles off the freeway, so it's not super close Minor road noise Narrow and short pull-throughs Little tree coverage Hornet problem Overall: The Albany/Corvallis KOA is a nice campground, but it's important to be aware of the drawbacks before you book your stay. The campground is clean and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly. The pool is a nice feature, and the mini-golf course is a fun activity for families. However, the campground is located off the freeway, so it's not super close, and there is minor road noise. The pull-throughs are narrow and short, and the camping sites have little tree coverage. The entire park has a hornet problem, which can be a nuisance. If you are looking for a campground that is close to the freeway and has a lot of amenities, then the Albany/Corvallis KOA is a good option. However, if you are looking for a campground that is more secluded and has more tree coverage, then you may want to consider another campground.

Bathrooms and showers are clean and grounds maintained alright and the groundskeeper is very nice, that is the only reason I gave it a second star. However, the water through the faucets for your hookup and in the showers was coming out a muddy brown. When brought to their attention they were fully aware but had neglected to say so during our reservation. Upon check in, I encountered Arlene, the owner's sister. Admittedly I looked a little scruffy with my beard, and I'm assuming this is why I had the following situation. First I asked what the cost was and noticed it wasn't the price my wife was quoted (upon discussion I realized she told me the member price as we were purchasing the membership). She immediately jumped to "if you don't like the price you can just go somewhere else". I said I'd go get my wife because she knew the reservation details, Arlene told me to stay there so she could "teach me something" and continued to talk down to me. I went to get my wife to figure it out before I said something I'd regret. She got it figured out though Arlene was still confused and asked my wife to come back the next day when the owner (her sister) Priscilla would be there to pay the rest of the week and get the membership. She also didn't know how to fill propane (or refused - who knows). The next day I went to the office for the key to the private shower and I met the owner's daughter. I tried to make polite conversation as she just got off the phone with someone that obviously frustrated her, and she abruptly asked what I needed. A little taken aback I requested the key, she asked my space number, I pointed to it on the map, then she handed me the key and told me I had only 30 minutes. Later I checked the supposed time limit with other staff and campers and found that this was not the case, she was just being rude. Coincidentally, I shaved my beard and went into the office while Arlene and Priscilla were both there. They were both very pleasant and didn't seem to recognize me as they proceeded to complain about the previous encounter I had with Arlene, making statements about not being a charity and poor people looking for hand outs (which was not at all the case). I didn't say anything about the fact that they were gossiping to me about me.A few days later my cat escaped from my RV (he came back, so no worries now). I was told that sometimes the office will feed and hold cats when they get loose. I went to ask if they had seen it and the owner's daughter was again very rude and said "well what do you want me to do about it?" I said nothing, just wondering if she'd seen it or if there's a usual place cats like to go. She just shrugged and gave rude facial expressions. And finally, when my wife booked for a week stay they told her they were completely booked (not true, there were several open spaces that would've been preferable to the space we were assigned). We were put in the farthest corner of the lot, far from the main building, showers and closest to the highway. It was also extremely muddy and boggy, becoming mosquito heaven. We have 3 small kids, so being far from the building and in a mosquito infested, massive mud puddle is terrible. Not sure it was coincidence as our neighbor had 4 kids with an even worse mud issue. Also they boast free wifi but it barely works, forget video streaming on their wifi, especially when you're far from the building. My final recommendations, refuse spaces 101 and 102 in wet weather, mud will get all over your rig and everything else. Don't fill your propane when Arlene is there, don't question pricing, don't associate with the daughter at all if you can help it (her name is Shauna or something like it - cannot recall), don't let your cat out, and don't have a beard. Or better yet, stay at another KOA or county park so you don't have to deal with any of them. I hope the other KOAs are better or I wasted money on...
