Point Lobos Reserve State Park - Bird Island Parking area is the starting point for the .8 mile round trip trail to China Cove and the famous Bird Island. For the spring months thousands of Brandt’s Cormorant nest on the spacious Island. Pelagic Cormorant can be seen nesting on unbelievably small ledges found on steep cliffs. Many beautiful California native plants and shrubs are in bloom along the Bird Island Trail from March through June. The beauty of the trail and the vistas are outstanding! The Point Lobos State Reserve is a jewel in the crown of California...

Very easy to just park in one of the parking spaces and start walking around to check all the main points. It was an easy hike and it was nice to see so many birds flying and living...
