In October 2024, Etowah Water repaired a leak in the roadway. During the repair, they removed part of the roadway and curbing and damaged a dry creek bed that had been installed to properly manage water runoff. Since then (going on 10 months), they have failed to restore the roadway, replace the curbing, or fix the creek bed.
As a result, stormwater now runs directly down my gravel driveway and into neighboring properties, causing repeated washouts and posing a long-term risk of property damage. Despite seven months of repeated phone calls and being told “someone will be out next week,” no corrective work has been performed.
Customer service has been equally frustrating. Patty repeatedly communicates only that she’ll “let operations know,” offering no accountability, no follow-up, and a less than pleasant attitude. Dana, on the other hand, is always courteous and pleasant to speak with. In fact, it wasn’t until I spoke with Dana that anyone suggested I speak directly to the project manager. The project manager did eventually come out to look at the situation — but since then, it has still been left to me to keep following up, with no action taken as of today.
This is unacceptable. Etowah Water needs to take accountability and properly restore the roadway, curbing, and drainage they damaged. Homeowners should not have to chase down a public utility for months just to fix problems caused by their own...
Read moreI moved to Dawson county almost 2 years ago and my experience with Etowah water was a challenging experience from the start. The customer service was horrible and it was obvious they knew we didn’t have a choice to choose a different provider. I recently had a problem with paying my bill because their system was down. I had to travel to pick up my daughter out of town and I was stressed about paying my bill and my daughter coming home with no water. I called and spoke with Carey she was more than helpful and reassured me that I would be able to pay my bill and have water for when I arrived home with my daughter. She reiterated to me that she would follow up with me when the system came back up and do anything she could to make sure the issue was taken care of. She for sure went above and beyond and I am extremely thankful for her! Thank you for your excellent...
Read moreEtowah Water notified us of a water leak at our home. Initially, we fixed what we thought was the problem and sent in our receipts for the repair. We were given a one time a year credit towards our bill. I checked back with Patty Day, customer service manager, and she promptly informed me that there was still a leak showing in our usage. We have six toilets, and as we tweaked and repaired each one I would ask Patty again to check our usage. She was always so pleasant and responded to my emails immediately. It took awhile to find the culprit which meant I emailed Patty many, many times. Instead of waiting for the next bill to generate and see that it was still higher than normal, Patty helped us monitor along the way. I really appreciated her assistance and excellent...
