The location is beautiful and gorgeous, especially for exploring.

The reason I'm giving this business such a low rating, though, is because they nickel-and-dimed us, and the customer service was pretty subpar.

My mom and I both called for information and set up our reservation, and BOTH of us were told that if we needed to cancel or change our reservation, we'd have to pay half price of whatever we were canceling or changing. So we got there, needed ONE less kayak than we asked for, and were charged full price. The guy said we needed to give them three days notice, which is totally a contradiction to what my mom and I were both told on the phone. We had booked them only a day or two in advance, and the guy made it sound like it was no big deal to cancel (for half price).

I could understand this if their kayaks were running off the shelf, and they needed that ONE extra kayak, but we were pretty much the only people who gave them business that day, and it was off season. And I hate to play this card, but we're locals and would totally have given them more and more business if they had been cooler about the situation.

On top of all of this, the guys "working" there did almost nothing to help any us get situated in the water (some of us were newbs), and nothing about the fact that their parking ticket machine was broken, and we were worried about getting tickets.

Oh and be aware that a "half-day" is only three hours :(

Like I said, great location! Just nowhere near as good of a business as what Sanibel or Estero...

If you're looking for an unforgettable kayaking experience in Southwest Florida, look no further than this incredible kayak rental service! From start to finish, my experience was nothing short of spectacular. The staff was welcoming, and the highlight of our visit was meeting Chase. He went above and beyond to ensure that we were fully prepared for our adventure, offering detailed instructions and answering all of our questions with enthusiasm and patience. His warmth and knowledge truly made the experience special.

As for the kayaking itself – wow. The mangroves in this area are absolutely breathtaking. As we paddled through the winding waterways, we were surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful tranquility. The towering mangrove trees provided a serene canopy, making us feel as though we were in a hidden oasis. Along the way, we spotted a variety of local wildlife: playful manatees surfaced nearby, and a variety of beautiful birds flitted overhead.

Chase’s local insights helped us navigate the area with ease, and his passion for the environment was infectious. He truly knows this place like the back of his hand, and it made our adventure feel even more personalized and enriching. Whether you're a seasoned kayaker or a first-timer, this rental service will make sure you have the best experience possible....

I personally had a great time during the tour. The guide was super confident, which made us feel safe, and the views were amazing. I wasn't expecting much so I enjoyed myself. It was pricey but I'm happy to pay to have an expert navigate me through new bodies of water and the guide did make us all feel very safe. However, after seeing everyone else's reviews and retellings of their experiences online I see now that my group got the short end of the stick. Our guide was very chatty, but only gave us relevant information on mangroves and manatees for what could've been a total of 20 minutes out of the 3 hrs we spent with him. He took us to a beautiful beach, unsure of the name because he just said it was a 15 min break and disappeared until it was time to head back out. The most disappointing thing was that they told us to leave our phones behind because our guide would take pictures with his camera as we made our way through, come to find he only took 1 group photo, while I see all other groups have albums of candids and group shots of over 40 pictures. I would give anything for at least one blurry picture of me going through the mangroves. Don't let my experience deter you, looking at other reviews and other people's experience it looks like my group just...

My family had a great time! I believe our guide's name was Jesse, and he knew a lot about the area and its wildlife and was very friendly. We did the 3hr tour and saw a manatee and a dolphin! I would definitely recommend this tour! Some things to keep in mind: 1) the kayaks are open on top, so DEFINITELY wear sunscreen 2) the mangrove tunnel portion of the tour is beautiful, but there are also lots of little crabs that look like spiders which might be creepy for some. That portion is only about 20 minutes though, so I would really recommend just pushing through it so you can see all the other cool stuff! 3) if you are a first time kayaker, be prepared for a workout. It's 3 hours, and the mangrove tunnel gets pretty narrow and tricky to navigate at times. They do have some 2-person kayaks though, and on our tour there was a young kid (maybe 8?) kayaking with his family for the first time and he took it like a champ 4) the parking is not free, you pay by the hour 5) you'll want to bring some cash to tip your excellent guide!

Another great experience kayaking at Bunche Beach Kayaks kayaks. This was our first trip post hurricane. Happy to report that the mangrove tunnel, which is the highlight of the kayak trip here, is reestablished, and as beautiful as ever. The trip is a circle down rock Creek and, then, into a 30 minute paddle through the mangroves. The path is stunning. It is narrow, sometimes no more than five or 6 feet wide, but very well maintained. Make sure you go at or around high tide. From the mangroves, it is a short, pleasant panel past some new homes to the outlet into Estero Bay. Bunche Beach provides a great place to pull up the kayak and take a break. Just a wonderful trip. Caleb provided us with great service and perfect directions. We have kayaked most of the roots around Southwest Florida, and this stands out as the best and most unusual.

So much fun! Kayak Excursions had competitive pricing and was super convenient to book, and they were even able to accommodate our last-minute reservation. We opted for the “Guided Sunset Tour”, and it did not disappoint. A very do-able route for all ages and levels. Our enthusiastic guide was knowledgeable about the area (random history tidbits galore!) and was also well versed on all the different types of wildlife that we observed. We felt safe, and comfortable in the kayaks (which had backrests). Paddling through the mangroves was so much fun, and watching the sunset on the water was beautiful and peaceful. We had time to see all the tour’s sights without feeling rushed. Definitely a must-do if you’re visiting the area!
