I ran across this listing while googling “forest preserves near me”. I have been to all the close ones and wanted to find out if there were any hidden gems. Though I wondered why it did not have a name, as all the other preserves do. Google maps gave me a route, entering off Deerfield Road, s to Portwine, right on Blackthorne, right on Greenbriar.
Know that google is WRONG, and there is NO forest preserve access from this route. No parking lot, no trails, and it is completely ringed round with private homes. Roads are very narrow one lane roads, there is certainly nowhere to park and walk in.
You would have to park much further N or S and enter the Des Plaines River trail network elsewhere. No access from Lake-Cook, either. From Milwaukee avenue, satellite view shows entrances behind some businesses on Milwaukee.
