Lithia Springs Campground and Recreation area. — Attraction in Shelbyville

My family and I have stayed at Lithia Springs Campgrounds twice; first time was Oct. 2019 and most recently July 2020. The fist trip was fairly good but the shower area definitely needed some work. Most recently we were there and not much had been done with the showers, still need to be cleaned up and some general maintenance. What was more disturbing were our neighbors. The first night they were up past 1am; loud music, drinking and screaming. When the camp staff were notified of it the next day we were assured it was addressed and would not be an issue again. Night number two, same song second verse. At midnight I went out to ask them to turn down the music and explain we were trying to sleep. I was confronted by one member, telling me I was being rude. When i discussed the issue with the camp staff on Sunday, I was told the group was leaving and would not bother us again. I do not believe the camp staff have any interest in enforcing the rules and if you get the wrong neighbors it sucks being you. My Husband and I are Primitive Campers. Our 1st time here, we were unsure which spot to snag. You must register online, no walk ins. I expected a more rural site, but they are all open for RV and Campers. There are plenty of bathroom/showers on site, which was a Big plus! (Very well maintained!) After we got past the "it wasn't what we expected" feeling...we ended up just going ahead with it. We actually ended up having a very enjoyable stay! The Lake is so Clean and clear, absolutely beautiful!! We later drove around and located more private settings and wrote them down for a future stay! 5 Stars – Perfect for First-Time Campers! We absolutely loved our stay at Lithia Springs Campground and Recreation Area! As new camper owners, we weren’t totally sure what we were doing, but thankfully there was someone onsite who helped guide us through the entire setup process and was available for any questions we had. That kind of support made a huge difference.

The campground itself is a beautiful hidden gem — peaceful, clean, and well-maintained. The swimming area was a big hit for us, and everything from the grounds to the restrooms was spotless. We couldn’t have asked for a better first camping experience and can’t wait...
