
Such a beautiful and scenic place. Visit during the week on a Monday or Tuesday and you might have the pier almost entirely to yourself during the early morning hours. The grounds of the park are well-kept with rules prominently-posted. The restrooms are older, but clean and in working-order. There is wheelchair-accessible stall and a baby changing station. The bathroom is stocked with soap and paper products.

Not surprisingly, you can't get in the light house and are not supposed to go on the catwalk (which was recently restored). You can walk all the way out to the light on the breakwater. Definitely worth a visit for lighthouse enthusiasts! Nice views on the Arcadia Dunes in the distance, as well. As an aside, the square tower in some of the photos on this listing is actually the Ludington light...

It was absolutely beautiful and was a wonderful place to do plein air painting. This was just one spot of many that we visited. I will definitely be traveling up to Michigan again. I live in Ohio and OSU OH-IO is still number one but the state of Michigan is much prettier overall...
