This was our first time visiting the Miccosukee and all they have to offer and this was one of the attractions we visited. Our captain for our tour was Captain Brown, who was absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable and even funny. Our tour ended up being a private one, perhaps due to weather, which made the experience that much better. Unfortunately due to water levels we didn't get the full experience however the alternative experience was just as good in my opinion, we saw adult and baby gators along with a nest in a cove like marsh area. Although we ended up getting absolutely soaked due to storms in the area, it didn't affect us and the experience. The on-site staff as well are super friendly. We will definitely be back again for another tour when the waters improve to get the full experience. I highly recommend calling ahead and checking prior to booking or if you just want the experience the canal tour is just as good if you wanna go for a ride and see some gators and learn a few things. I also recommend bringing a small duffle bag with a change of clothes and a towel just in case of those unexpected florida storms that may crop up and perhaps even a poncho. I also recommend dressing for the environment and not like a tourist "lol" wear blue jeans or long pants with a long sleeved shirt to help keep the deer flies off you. Trust me, they hurt when they bite and itch pretty bad after. Deet isn't a good option to keep them off you, they are not like mosquitoes. Bring something like "after bite" or "benadryl itch relief spray" for after the tour. Overall, it was a great experience, will definitely be returning soon. Highly recommend. "Go for the...
Read moreI recently took my family on an airboat tour with Miccosukee Airboats and was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. I’ve visited before, but this trip truly exceeded my expectations. Our guide, Captain Brown, was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaging. His insights added so much to the tour, making it not only informative but fun. The facilities and boats are great. Everything looked brand new, from the well-maintained boats to the freshly painted building, which was immaculate. The air-conditioned and spotless bathrooms were a pleasant surprise. During the tour, we stopped at a historic island where the Miccosukee once lived. We saw a variety of wildlife, including a large alligator named Momma and even a gator nest. The opportunity to witness these animals in their natural habitat was unforgettable. Learning that the company is now under new management made everything clear the improvements are noticeable, and the dedication to providing a top-tier experience shines through. My family and I had an amazing time and will absolutely be back. Highly...
Read more$25 for a 30 min excursion out on an airboat. Our airboat pilot? Captain? Was pretty taciturn and hard to understand. He hardly said a word. He took us to see a momma alligator and her babies (got really close to them too.. not sure what the guidelines are, but we were within 10’ of them.) then we went to some sort of wooden plank picnic area which was supposed to be an Indian settlement but just looked like a place where they have barbecues and coolers and stuff. It didn’t look traditional or authentic at all. All pressure treated wood. Our guide said literally nothing while we were there. We were there for 10 min. The whole time there was a guy using a gas powered lead blower blowing nothing. It was totally killing the peaceful vibe of the place. You’d think he could take a break for 10 min and have a chat with the 3 guests that were there.
I read reviews of the other places and they all mentioned really knowledgeable guides. Well that was not my experience with this place. Go to one of...
