I was recommended by our Nemours Dr office to take our son in for wheezing just to be safe. No other symptoms but a cough. It’s 7:30pm when we walk in. We are put in a room immediately. Then we wait…. For 3 hrs. During that 3 hr span we briefly saw a nurse and a resident for vitals and information. By the time a doctor finally came in, my son was screaming his head off because he is 7 months old and it was after 10pm… we get him settled… the doctor only speaks to the baby. She listens to his lungs. She says we should suction his nose. I’ve already repeated his symptoms more than once at this point but I stated again, he is not snotty at all. Just a cough and wheezing. She insists on suction and then she will come back and listen to his lungs again. Suctioning is a horrifying experience for a baby… so they suction and get nothing. We get him calm again and wait almost another hour before the resident comes back in and says there isn’t much to do other than monitor at home…. The doctor who hardly acknowledged us spent 3 minutes in the room and did not return like she said… I spent 4 hours here for that. Walking in I felt my son wasn’t severe but I was advised to go here and have him checked regardless… if she had spent just 10 minutes with us, our problem would have been solved quickly, we wouldn’t have held up an ER room for 4 hours and I wouldn’t be giving a 1 star review.. I left there knowing as much info as I...
Read moreMy 1 and a half month old son had an ongoing fever for 2 days, and was diagnosed with human metapneumovirus which is practically the same thing as rsv. He had stopped wanting to drink milk, the fever wouldn’t break, he stopped being responsive, wasn’t waking for feeds, stopped making wet diapers, and started to become very dehydrated, they sent us home saying he was fine and there was nothing they could do since he would have to “ride out the virus”. I took him home and he got even worse, I brought him back but was sent home again. After being frustrated that I knew something wasn’t right with my baby I took him to a small town hospital the same day.(cape regional hospital in cape may court house) That hospital doesn’t even have a peds unit anymore. They rushed my son in because he was borderline not even alive anymore. They were so infuriated that DuPont didn’t want to run bloodwork, give iv fluids and a do a chest x ray. All because of DuPont not wanting to do anything early on my poor son had to be poked 6 times to try to get an iv in to push fluids. He was so dehydrated that they couldn’t get a good line, and when they straight cathed him to get a urine sample. No urine came out. He was admitted right away was given the best care I could have asked for. I will never bring my son back and will never recommend this hospital. I could have...
Read moreDon't ever take your baby to this hospital for help. My daughter had a simple bruise, I went for help because I wasn't sure where it came from, they falsely accused me before any type test and without any type evidence. They took my baby for three day had a DFS case on me put my baby through radiation, did an ultrasound to find nothing. They lied to me tricked me out the room said I needed to speak with someone and did not let me back up to see my baby. They put her under anesthesia when I told them NO and kept her for three day without me having no knowledge of what was going on with MY child. They took my personal papers out my baby bag and had a starge volunteer holding my daughter. The worst of all when my mom got there the next day they said they couldn't find her in the system, I'm truly sick to my stomach every time I think about that. And so much more to my sweet baby without any concent from me. I'm truly and hate the fact I ever came to his trash...
