I have gone to the Patch Of Heaven Sanctuary as both a visitor for the tour and I recently booked it as my wedding venue. Since I have not had the wedding yet this review will be based on my experience in booking with the team for the wedding and my impressions of site itself.
I reached out to Tanya Rocha, the Operations and Finance Director for the Patch Of Heaven Sanctuary and she was very helpful and informative. We booked a site visit and I brought along my fiancé, children and my mother. We met Tanya in the gravel parking lot and she began the tour. We really felt that she cared about us as individuals and she treated us like family. We definitely did not feel like just another number. She was giving us a number of good ideas and she genuinely seemed excited and happy for us. One of the major reasons we decided to go with this venue is that we know that Tanya would be there every step of the way with a lot of enthusiasm and energy and making sure our day was perfect. She assisted us with vendors and made sure that they got back to us in a timely manner. She was very hands-on and we appreciated the assistance. When I went to finalize the contract and drop off the payment we met in her office by the front gate. It was a very comfortable cozy cabin and you really got to feel the ambience of the place. She remembered details from our conversation at the tour and we really felt like we were received as family. We are very excited and looking forward to our wedding at Patch Of Heaven Sanctuary.
Regarding the location itself, it has to be seen in person to be truly appreciated. It is such a peaceful and serene place with so much to see. Words and pictures do not...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Patch of Heaven Sanctuary in Florida, and it was nothing short of magical. Nestled in a stunning natural setting, this sanctuary offers a peaceful retreat filled with beauty and tranquility. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the peaceful atmosphere, lush gardens, serene surroundings, and the beautiful animals that call this place home.
The sanctuary is a haven for rescued plants and animals, and it’s evident that the staff deeply cares about their work. Walking through the grounds, I encountered a variety of animals, each with its own unique story and charm. The joy and love radiating from both the animals and the caretakers made for a truly heartwarming experience.
I highly recommend taking the VIP tour with Randall. His passion and knowledge about the sanctuary and its inhabitants greatly enhanced my visit. Randall's storytelling and insights made the experience not only informative but also incredibly engaging. He has a deep knowledge of plants, and has lived in and visited over 70 countries. He was able to share behind-the-scenes stories about almost everything, which left me wanting to learn more from him. He even showed us a nearby farm where we could buy fresh juices and great snacks. Unfortunately, our time was limited due to an upcoming flight, but he is definitely the reason I will return soon for another visit!
If you’re looking for a beautiful escape that combines a love for nature, scenery, and animal welfare, Patch of Heaven Sanctuary is the perfect destination. I look forward to going back to...
Read moreIt starts to fade when you arrive down the hidden drive into the parking lot....the stress. Daily schedules, commitments, deadlines... the disappear.. and are supposed to.
That's one of the things about this Sanctuary --a place of refuge and protection. For Humans, Flora, and Fona.
Other gardens appear landscaped, maintained, manufactured, museum like in the tagging and display of rare, special trees, flowers and native plants.
This space mimics the natural Pinewood & Rockland Hammocks that is South Florida's native, natural undisturbed areas. Small trails with benches to reflect, read a book, find your peace. Waterfalls, a Lagoon full of Koi and Cichlids, Zen Garden, Butterfly Garden, Horse Bar, Bat Houses, Chocolate Bar Restaurant..... you really never knew this place was here. a hidden gem, really.
We had a tour arranged for our group with Randall Quirk, the most energetic, engaging, interesting accompaniment we could have asked for. He knew all the stories, all the plant life, and all the techniques for reducing stress, and relaxing at the Sanctuary.
He took us to a very unique part of the Sanctuary called the Mindful Pocket Park - a series of mini parks one for each of your senses as the anchor of focus, relaxing you you will arrive in the present moment.
We had an older woman with us, who was slow with a walker. Randall made sure she kept with the group, was constantly checking on her, and even escorted her to the bathroom during our lunch break. He really made us all feel so welcome.
This really is a Patch of Heaven, can't...
