Oh boy, folks, it's dad and I'm coming in fresher than the Lowe's foods produce section and let me tell ya, the Pisgah Ranger Station is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of nature's playground! If you're looking for a family adventure that will leave you smiling from ear to ear, this place is a touchdown! From the moment we arrived, I knew we were in for a real treat. The friendly staff welcomed us with open arms and warm smiles, just like a dad giving his kids a big bear hug. They were knowledgeable, helpful, and ready to assist us in any way possible. Talk about a real MVP team! Now, let me tell you about the facilities. It's like stepping into a dream, folks. The cabins are cozy and spacious, perfect for a family getaway. And the amenities? Whew, they knocked it out of the park! We're talking about clean bathrooms, well-stocked kitchens, and even a fire pit for those marshmallow roasting sessions. It's a touchdown for comfort and convenience! But let's not forget about the real star of the show: the great outdoors! The Pisgah Ranger Station is surrounded by breathtaking scenery and endless activities for the whole family. Hiking trails that make you feel like you're on top of the world, fishing spots where you can reel in the big one, and even mountain biking trails that'll have you saying, "Dad, can we go again?" And if that's not enough, the wildlife sightings will have you feeling like you're in a nature documentary. We had the pleasure of seeing deer, squirrels, and even a curious raccoon trying to steal our snacks. It's like a real-life safari, folks! So, if you're looking for a place that combines the comforts of home with the thrill of the great outdoors, the Pisgah Ranger Station is a touchdown! Trust me, folks, you won't be disappointed. It's a dad-approved destination that'll create memories to last a lifetime.

I got the privilege to hang with the Sobra group today 11/10/24 working on trails in N Mills River. It was great and glad a waitlist position opened up. As most people are aware I have a really hard time hearing. And I’m thankful they were there to help. I didn’t catch her name and hubbys name, however she worked for the Vet hospital in E AVL and he worked at REI and possibly several others. They were so kind and accommodating. Thank you. The others that helped were Jesse, Jackson, Simon, Craig, Caleb, Jonathan, Will (Jon). It was a quick training, but with some good suggestions. Thank you so kindly. I should probably know this, but a reminder that I shouldn’t clear too much leaves because it’s nutrients for the ground. Thank you for all the work yall do! Blessed.

We like to stop at the Visitor Center/Ranger Station on any visit to the Pisgah Forest area and the waterfalls. They provide great up-to-date information on activities, hikes, and waterfalls in the area. We especially like the PISGAH RANGER DISTRICT Waterflas along the Hwy 276 Corridor. It has a map with each fall, how to get there and parking info. Great for getting a bit off the beaten path for some nice waterfalls. The Visitor Center has a lot of good information and activities for getting invomed and gaining knowledge about the Forest. On this visit, we watched the four videos about the forest, the animals, and more. All was very good. Plus there are rest rooms here. A good place to stop before going to some of the more remote waterfalls.

Make this your first stop when visiting the Pisgah National Forest. Knowledgeable volunteers can help you plan your visit. This is especially important in September 2021 due to the extensive damage left locally by the remnants of Hurricane Fred. Many areas are dangerous and closed. Nice facility with nature displays, gift shop and clean restrooms. Check out the surrounding gardens featuring mostly native plants. In season you may see butterflies or a hummingbird. I’m a bit biased as I volunteer in maintaining the gardens. Also note that there are hiking trails right from the visitor center.

My wife and I stopped by the visitor center and found it to be informative and the staff were helpful and friendly. We purchased a map of all the trails and sights from the gift shop. There are 400 miles of hiking trails and 180 miles of bike trails. The center has a lot of information you can get and is staffed to help you with any questions you may have. There are clean restrooms available. If this was helpful, please hit the thumbs up like.

One of the best ranger stations I’ve been to. The staff is helpful? Check. The bathrooms are clean? Check! Maps? Check! Cute store? Check! They have everything you could need at a ranger station. The maps and guides inside are especially helpful for finding harder to reach waterfalls. I have been coming to this forest for over a decade and every time I learn something new here. Take a stop!
