If being made fun of by teenagers was scary I'd go walk the halls of a high school for Halloween, not waste my money on Scarrigan Farms.
Scarrigan Farms has gone overwhelmingly downhill in the past year. Our group visited last year and traveled from out of town (some from as far away as NY!) this weekend to visit again. We were shocked by how poor the scares were.
First, the "actors" were constantly making fun of us (our clothes, our appearances, etc.). The problem wasn't that our feelings were hurt, it was that it completely took us out of the experience. You're constantly reminded that you aren't actually surrounded by monsters...you're just around a bunch of teenagers in costumes and bad makeup. The "actors" are so poorly trained that they can't even think of anything frightening to say, so they just lazily call you ugly and call it a day. The timing of the "scares" is totally off, primarily consist of annoying, incessant screaming/screeching, and don't leave you feeling terrified or even a little scared.
Second, there aren't enough "actors." When they get hung up by the group in front of you, they break character trying to get back to their original "post" and don't even try to scare you.
It's disappointing they put so much effort into the set design, only for you to get yelled at by a few kids for 30 minutes.
Then, you get to the end, hoping beyond hope for one good scare, only to walk for 10 minutes through a completely empty corn field with no "actors," animatronics, or even props. You keep on walking, waiting for something to happen and it just...never does. A wildly missed opportunity.
Lastly, the cost is beyond insanity. We paid $45/person for less than an hour of walking around in the woods. FWIW, this is the same cost as the entry fee...

I arrived was told by parking where to go. So me and my group parked and walked down to the ticket counter and was told they weren't selling anymore tickets.. 10:00 on a Friday night is pretty early for a haunted attraction thats not recommended for kids....Other mazes I have been at have gone until 2:45AM. They need to communicate better instead of having people stand out in the dark parking people for something that is closed. After finding out that they were closed. There was a couple in front of us that were complaining about how they've been coming 4 years in a row and had a horrible experience this night. According to them one of the actors was asleep. Another guy said sorry I'm tired. Some attractions had no one in there to scare them.. They were really upset. One of the staff members seemed upset and went to grab the owner. She then returned and said sorry she's busy and cant come talk.. They told us we could at least walk down to the Quarry and check it out. As soon as we arrived down there we were instantly stopped by someone that said they were closing and we needed to leave.. I understand it was the last night but people are paying money to attend this attraction. Very bummed out about my experience and the lack of communication from the very...
