Now I'm giving two stars because of the many years I've gone and taken a small group of people every year (sometimes twice or three times a season) and it's always been 5 stars prior. I have gone twice this 2024 season Oct 12th and Oct 19th ☆Oct 12th.... •I was told by a young man running baggage claim we were to take my guests vape pen back to the vehicle bc it may be marijuana (I showed the brand of vape and said look it up) this brand is nicotine only (vapresso) I was talked down to and told to return it to the vehicle. My group was treated poorly and without a single speck of respect. Also why would we set an illegal substance vapor pen on the table for them to see. •A scarer with a chainsaw at the end of Swine jumps out and gives chase to the young girls in our group..The security guard nearby sternly yells don't run! ...I mean c'mon he gave chase! Other than that wait times weren't bad and the scarers were on top of their game Swine was amazing and reminded me of the best haunt you ever had called Terror Canyon and we had alot of fun! ☆Oct 19th.... A scarer was posing for my friend picture A I was passing the scarer I saw my friend was about to take the pic so (I .. without making a peep) turned and put my head into the picture while she took the shot. Then a security guard came at me full throttle, very disrespectfully and very ill tempered and yelled hey! and actually got nose to nose with me and sternly said don't scare my actors! I came back at him saying.. What are you talking about? I turned in for a pic and said I'm a 48yr old man here to have a good time do I honestly look like a punk to you. He still came at me with disrespect until the actor told him I didn't do anything wrong! Then he said, oh, and just walked off, No Apology! •A worker told me they had sold over 8,000 tickets for the night of Oct 19th I said this is ridiculous!!!! there has to be a cut-off for the park to be enjoyable and none of us can opt out or get a refund.. plus the expensive drive, parking cost, and very high priced food and drinks. I honestly see scarywood not being worth the money time and effort any longer (and each of my group members agree) ☆First it should be 18 and up (so security and park workers don't have to deal with the problems the adolescents are creating) ☆Second, there needs to be a cut-off.. 8,000 people is great when both parks are open not for One Half of One park. Also 8,000 showing up at one time for a five hour haunt is ridiculous. Over 8,000 people come to and from Silverwood and Boulder Beach daily and that number is better handled with both parks open. ☆Third, an actual security company needs to teach scarywood security workers how to handle a situation or individual with full respect. I've been in security for 23 years I'm able to teach them all some great pointers in respect and kindness approach. ☆Oct 19th I got to scarywood at 635pm I didn't get inside until 749pm between parking, bag check, and ticket scan. When there is that many people I feel very screwed over for the very small 5 hour window. Lines get way longer There were less people the 12th and all the haunted attractions were amazing as they let in groups of 9 to enter the haunts. The 19th the same haunted attractions were very dumb as they did not let any groups in it was one long continuous line walking through. I hope you see now why too many guests doesn't work until you open and create more attractions, more space, and more lines like... baggage and ticket scan. I know it's business and you make alot of money but it can't be about how many people you can bring in but how many people you can accommodate and make them all as happy as you can. I've been there with small groups of people since you've been open and this year is showing me if there isn't any changes from my advice I guess scarywood was a thing for me but will be no longer.
