Really liked the RV park. Nice hookups. Very stable power and no voltage sags. Excellent water pressure, bring your pressure regulators. Tent campers beware, sites are very nice, however not nearly enough restrooms and showers for the number of “unserviced” campers they host. I counted two facilities. There is a small restroom pair at the main office. On the men’s side was two sinks, one urinal, one toilet and two showers. The shower house in the middle of the RV park, on the men’s side had 4 sinks, two toilets, three urinals and 4 showers. The number of facilities is woefully inadequate relative to the number of campers they host which are not self contained in RVs. Facilities are cleaned by Silverwood staff early in the morning, and they do a good job. However it feels like they are only serviced once a day. By the afternoon, paper towel chibbles and cast off TP is all over the floor along with normal dirt and grime. Both facilities have been remodeled or refreshed and appear modern.
The RV park has a volleyball pit, a really nice kids play structure. There is a central path that goes past the mid park shower house and onto the entry to the amusement park.
Sites are mostly level and are covered in mostly gray rock/gravel. You have a fire pit and picnic table at each campsite. Lots of space. Most of the trees are pretty young and don’t provide a lot of shade, however they are growing and in a few years there will be a lot more shade than there is now.
There is a mix of pull thru and back in sites. We had site 91 and found it spacious and the arc of the pull thru was just right for a longer rig. Utilities were placed about amidships, so you weren’t having to run 50ft of sewer hose.
While we were there we noticed that a number of street lights along roadways and paths were out. Possibly just an oversight.
All the staff we interacted with at the RV park we’re super nice and accommodating.
We will be back. The attraction to camping here is the Silverwood theme park and how convenient it is to camp right across the highway...
Read moreWHEELCHAIR USERS: ADA INFO - the reason I’m writing this guide is because it’s not always possible to get accurate accessibility information over the phone. It’s not their fault - but photos help out a TON when trying to plan a trip in a wheelchair :-) all of the camp sites are gravel, and have wooden borders around them. The grass between the campsites is watered heavily and may be difficult to maneuver around in. There is one ‘accessible’ camp site near the front - it’s the same as the others, but has a cutout in the wooden border to get into the tent/picnic table area (photos below). There are no strictly wheelchair accessible showers in the campground- the largest shower is in the bathrooms attached to the office - however there is no built in bench in the shower itself. But there is just enough space for a power chair. The other bathroom/shower building has very narrow shower stalls - they do have a built in wooden bench- if you use a manual chair it might work ok. But the shower heads spray towards the door - so might be tricky to keep your chair dry - and the shower stall doors are VERY narrow. As for the bathrooms themselves - the one attached to the office has a toilet stall that’s JUST big enough to get a power chair into. You’ll probably need to back into the stall.. and there is one horizontal grab bar next to the toilet. The other campground bathroom has a nice large toilet stall. Overall the campground is fairly serviceable- the ADA campsite is about 50 feet from the office bathrooms. Photos of...
Read moreWe stayed at Silverwood RV Park from Monday to Thursday in mid-June, coming down from Canada. Our experience at the park was delightful.
The lady at the front desk, whose name I unfortunately can't recall, was incredibly friendly and helpful. She provided us with all the information we needed about the theme park, including ticket options, which helped us decide on purchasing two-day tickets.
The bathrooms and showers are spacious and clean, which made our stay comfortable. The park also features a playground and a large open grass area, perfect for playing catch, and even has a sand volleyball court. We noticed the staff constantly cleaning and maintaining the sites, ensuring the park was in excellent condition.
While you can hear the highway traffic, it didn't bother us, especially since we're used to a lot of noise with our three kids. The unique feature of the park is its connection to Silverwood Theme Park via an underground tunnel, which adds convenience and fun to the stay.
There is also a laundry room available, although we didn't use it during our stay.
The park is on the expensive side, likely due to its proximity to the theme park and the convenience of the tunnel connection. However, considering the amenities and the overall experience, it...
