I am so grateful that God directed me to this community. Notice I said community and not Church. I had been lurking around assessing Union based on my raw experience. Let me tell you how wonderfully connected this community is to the saving grace and love of Jesus Christ. I have always found someone new to talk to, and just tell my story about the love of God. I am so inspired by the diverse crowd, and their genuine love of praise and worship. I have only been attending Union for a month, but after having God directly deal with some dark spiritual ties at Freedom Conference, I have never been the same. I am excited to become more involved with this Church, and supporting the advancement of Jesus Christ. To the people who have commented about the designer wear of the pastor and congregation, I’m unsure what is your point. Part of being blessed is having the ability to wear nice clothes, I cannot recall a specific instance in the Bible that exalted being unable to meet your needs, or wear nice clothes. I actually feel the pastor wears clothes that might be too casual but who am I to judge. Finally, some people may use the word Cult, and while the word cult is demonized, the root definition or premise of a cult is a group which is typically led by a charismatic and self-appointed leader, who tightly controls its members, requiring unwavering devotion to a set of beliefs and practices which are considered deviant (outside the norms of society). I am going to push the envelope here and evaluate on plain common sense, if any of these factors above in the definition of a cult is bad? Charismatic- good, self appointed leader -CEO (pastor Chandler), tightly controlled (agreed but this is also known as leadership and a vision), requiring unwavering devotion (pastor Chandler rags on himself daily, so I am unsure if this element is met) and there is no deviant practices pushed here, unless you cannot accept and believe that Jesus Christ is the only way, he is truth, and the light. The message spoken at Union is one of salvation according to John 3:16, and fellowship with Gods people. In conclusion, Union is a great community and stellar example for how a church is operated, and I am grateful to God for all he has done for me during my short time attending...

Read moreI visited the BWI campus for the first time yesterday. I would have to say my experience was not enjoyable. I walked in and was told to sit wherever I want. I chose a seat in the middle and put my purse in the seat next to me. Way after service started there was a greeter who was seating people who came in late. She forced me to move my purse and said that I needed to let someone sit next to me. Is someone who goes to church so this was not a comfortable experience. The seating is so small that I was literally sitting arm and arm with a stranger who kept touching my leg and our arms were plastered together. I’ve never had an experience like this at any place that I’ve gone to. The pastor only cited 2 Bible verses. But the majority of the service was about her children and her husband and her going to the gym. This is never something I’ve experienced before and frankly I won’t be...
