I will start out by saying this area is a very wonderful scenic relaxing place to spend the day. Some of the many activities you have to choose from are hiking, boating, BBQ Grilling, camping, history & kids museum, summer programs, 2 sandy beach inspired mountain top lakes to choose from for 🏊 #swimming which one has a concession stand, restrooms and shower to clean up. Read moreThis is a great little lake to visit. It is nicest when there aren't a bunch of people there. Regardless, it's a nice spot, locally, for some free swimming and nature walks. Make sure you take sunscreen, bug spray, a change of clothing, and towels. Parking and swimming are free. The only cost would be if you want to rent a kayak or canoe. Kayaking is very fun here. After a good time at this lake, you can go right down the road to Twirly Top for some burgers, chicken tenders, and/or fries for dinner and an ice...

Water had very nice gradual slope that allowed young kids to go out a little ways. Saw a number of small fish swimming around us. Beach didn't have shade.
