Laurel Lake — Local services in Cooke Township

The lake is nice, however they only have a small area roped off for swimming. We went before school was even out, on the first warm day and it was really packed full of people, so much so that you couldn't really even swim, just so many people. We got a bench and had our stuff on it, when my boyfriend got out of the water to go to it, some people were sitting there...very rude, luckily they left without incident. Laurel Lake Beach is open from May 1 to September 30, 8 AM to sunset. A changing area and snack bar are available in summer. Laurel Beach is swim at your own risk. This is a nice spot to cool down, lots of shaded picnic tables, and a great view. I do not suggest renting the pavilion because the walkway to the parking lot goes right through it and you constantly have people walking through it.
