We love Unicoi State Park. We’ve camped here, ate at the lodge, and hiked around the lake loop. The lake loop is a pretty easy hike; it gets you immersed in the woods with some awesome views. My three year old hiked it with me. My one year old was riding in our Osprey hiking backpack. Both kids enjoyed being in the woods and seeing the lake. We saw people riding kayaks, paddle boards, and peddle boats. The trail condition was good. It’s easy to know where to go when circling the lake loop. There’s a bridge that crosses a narrow section of the lake that my three year old enjoyed. We packed a lunch and some drinks to enjoy after our hike. Walking on its short trails and swimming in its cool waters is a bliss. Helen and Anna Ruby Falls are very close to the area, but for another great place to visit, I would recommend Tallulah Gorge State Park, which is only 30 miles away...
