Lovely hidden gem of the OBX! The nature trail is peaceful, secluded, and magically beautiful. The trail is smooth and flat and mostly in the shade of the maritime forest. We barely saw any other people (just 2) the whole time we were there. The wooded trail parallels the road for 2.5 - 3 miles and begins behind the Pine Island Racquetball and Fitness Center. The first sound overlook deck is around the halfway point - we walked as far as that and then turned around. Heard and saw lots of birds singing... and saw LOTS of spiders. So beware and walk carefully, especially if you're tall - there were many webs stretched above the trail. Despite the spiders this is my new favorite place in the OBX!

Absolutely gorgeous marsh land kayak tour with Michael as guide and Korey--very well prepared, smooth and professional getting everyone outfitted and lessons were so good that even the novices in our large group paddled expertly! Really a highlight and quiet gem of the wild life in the Outer Banks. Thank you, the cottage is wonderful as well.

Free parking at racquet club. Easy, flat, straight trail. Not much to look at other than overlook areas. Good for anyone that might not be able to hike a rough, uneven trail. I hike a lot so was a tad bored and you can hear traffic on 12 the whole time too. Because of the trees it is mostly shaded so that’s a plus.

Pine Island Sanctuary is located in the northern Outer Banks between Corolla and Duck. The sanctuary has a 2.5-mile nature trail open to the public that runs through the preserve. The trail follows an old road and makes an easy hike through a beautiful maritime forest. There are two overlooks along the trail with nice views of Currituck Sound. In the summer, bug spray is recommended. I saw a lot of butterflies and dragonflies on my hike and a deer with her fawn. Parking is available at Pine Island Racquet and...

My family and friends, of varying abilities and ages, went on a sunset kayak tour on an extremely windy day. We could not have had a better experience with Michael as the guide. He was skilled, articulate, professional and friendly. From the pre-trip introduction and launch to the very end Michael was completely engaged and helpful when necessary. He even took memorable photos of our group while on the water. Highly...
