Took the camery for an alignment, 35 mins after dropping it off, they called and said the "control arms bushings need replacing" and it was going to cost $600+, and take 3 days. Which was strange, because I had the whole frontend checked by Auto Werks (good guys is them) mere days earlier. So I took it back to them and they rechecked for free, found nothing. Then they suggested I take it to another shop to get the alignment (Ken Fisher Auto, also nice people), and personally recommend their stand of work, if work need to be done. But they (Ken Fisher) also found NOTHING WRONG and did the alignment for less than les Schwab would have charged. What I think happened, is that they backed the car up, heard the brake calipers clunk (missing spacers), and made a snap judgement the front end was stuffed. Without putting it on the hoist. Then quoted $600+ bucks to fix it.... at xmas! not everyone can pull that sort on money out of thin air these days. And especially at xmas when there is so much pressure on less affluent families. Luckily, I had the time to check back with auto werks. Would they have spotted the error and not changed out perfectly good parts, to avoid someone getting in trouble ??? Or covered for their friends? Who knows. This also cost me hours of stuffing around, none billable hours, money lost! Lost time and money finding child care for my one year old (baby sitter, because there is NO daycare in this town. its all full). But perhaps the worst part of this, dear reader, they were bloody rude! The guy at the desk wouldn't even look at me when he through the 600 buck quote at me. He chucked it at me in such a way it was clear what he thought of me for daring to question him.
The only good thing about Les Schwab on 3rd, is it give the filth some place to hide when busting the scum that speed through the...
Read moreI had a flat tire and called this location. They sent out a guy to put the wonderful donut on my care so I could take it in for repairs. Please keep in mind these tires were only two weeks old. The young man arrived & had me on the road within minutes. Nice guy. The bad part was after I got to the dealership. I had to wait for the main guy on the desk, as the young woman was in training. That was okay. He arrived and we went out to the car & I explained that the tire was in the trunk and I had used a fix all product on the flat before calling. He stating that they, the dealership, could not fix a tire after I used the product. In the past, dealerships mentioned they hated this product but it never prevented anyone from repairing a tire. I then asked if he could mount the used tire I had until I could arrange for a replacement tire, my tires were under warranty. Again, he told me that they were no longer allowed to mount used tires. Next, the salesperson/desk manager suggested I co to Beggs, in Philomath, as they mounted used tires. So I did. Beggs repaired the tire and didn't blink about the Flex All. I then purchased a universal wheel & they are mounted the used tire. Feeling like Les Schwab person saw a woman coming & thought he could convince me to buy a new tire $100+, I called another Les Schwab dealership. That dealership was willing to repair the tire and mount the used tire, no problem. The bad news is to be treated like this since I offered to pay for any service. In addition, I have bought a lot of tires of Les Schwab and always had great service. The good news is that Beggs in Philomath treated me like I was the most important customer of the day. So I will go back and encourage any woman to go there knowing they will be...
Read moreRidiculously disappointed with the quality of inspections at this place. A few years ago they were on top of stuff like this but as of lately it's just been a mess. My brother brought his vehicle in two or so weeks ago about some pressure loss in the brakes and this store gave it a clean bill of health. This was not the case. In 30 seconds I was able to find both front brake lines had pretty severe cracking/leaks contributing to the pressure loss and after removing the rear tires I found that the passenger side rear wheel cylinder had blown a piston seal and was leaking like crazy. I did this WITHOUT power tools/lifts in a grand total of five minutes. I did call them and it turns out the person who inspected his vehicle was the store manager, Will, who did not complete a work order and could only confirm the vehicle was there through verbal recounts, which only builds on my frustration. My family used to go here but lately we've moved our vehicular repairs to other shops. In another instance, we brought my father's car in for a clunking issue that was suspected to be the control arm but wound up being a combination of the control arm and wheel hub assembly. I only discovered this while taking his vehicle to Portland after having the control arm replaced and realizing turning left caused the right front wheel to vibrate violently. Seeing how they missed this, we took our business to a dealership for the second repair and haven't had an issue since. As I said,...
