I feel like maybe this haunt could use good honest criticism. I do not think this is a terrible haunt, nor do i mean any of my statements in a negative way. I do not recommend this haunt to anyone i know for the simple fact that it is not scary and lacks entertainment in every way possible except for the line actors, they are great!
If you are reading this review, sure i would recommend this haunt to people who only go to one haunt a year and maybe have children. But for those who absolutely love going to haunted attractions in Minnesota this one is not for you in anyway shape or form. I have previously went a couple of times and was also very unimpressed every time. The ride is probably the best part of this haunt no doubt and i would only recommend better seating like forward facing seating so everyone can see the attractions(not only for the visual aspect but also for processing your line more efficiently and to also make up for the wasted space in the midde of the trailer)
I would like to state a little about myself for the owners sake to understand where i am coming from i have previously been an actor at another haunt and i try to hit every haunt in Minnesota during the month of October. absolutely love to show my support to every haunt. But this particular haunt has fallen short everytime i have went. Once in the middle of the season and now towards the end of the season. With that being said i would like to try to provide some tips for the owners because i dont want to see you guys lose business. So i would love to give some tips maybe for improvement. 1.) There is to much open space when walking in the haunt! open space rooms just aren't scary unless there is stuff to break up the open space so you leave your customers in suspense. 2.) There is not much hiding spaces for the actors. Nothing is less suspensful than walking into a room and seeing the actor standing right there 3.) The actors were the worst i have ever seen each time i have went. (Standing there not doing anything at all) not a word not even a loud noise or scream but on top of it even if the actor can not scare someone does not mean they cant be entertaining maybe try to stray away from the im a killer basic acting and really encourage the actors to develope their own unique character even if it means getting weird. Maybe try giving them a little acting class or have acting auditions on improv. 4.) Forward facing seating on the trailer allows a better visual for the customers it really takes away from the hard work you put in out there if no one can see it in the first place. 5.) Some sort of remodel would be great because you could definitely use it. you have so much space to work with and if feels lost and disconnected maybe the owners should take the time to travle to other haunts in Minnesota to understand where i am coming from.
With that being said i do not think this haunt cant be fixed. You have so much space to work with but as of right now it is over priced. For something that didn't scare or entertain anyone i was with we all were left feeling like our money was wasted. I will not be returning till i see some improvement because i have heard this is Minnesota's longest running haunt but to be honest i couldn't even tell. It came off like a haunt that just started rather than...
Read moreMy husband and I went on Sept 28th (last night) we purchased fast passes online along Chainsaw massacre for extra fee which it is added new attraction that was last year we didn't go but two years ago. It wasn't busy when it is open as what I thought it would be. Anyways! I would give this rate as 3.5 out of 5 because it is little bit improving than previously we went. Few feedback on these 3 attractions. For the hayride is bit improving but would be nice to add more haunt themes at near the beginning of the hayride before into the woods like example, you can see sheds / storage right by tree lines that could decorate, a haunt themes to give more entertaining. Of course, it is still good NOT the best hayride, yet. For the haunted house is super awesome, some upgrade compared from two years ago, I do enjoy the most, terrified, jumping, fun! Hoping can be expanding more haunted house in the near future! For the Chainsaw massacre / corn maze part of additional fee which was purchased online along with fast pass admission that cost $15 per person for this kind of steep after we did checked it out, we did enjoy bit but terrified about Chainsaw did actually touched me was intensely and very short like few minutes in the corn maze maybe couple actors with chainsaw. I don't think this price is worth it but would be less cost for it or just to attached after the hayride people can go into corn maze then to haunted house. Last thing I want to say, the haunting experience is very entertaining for anyone, we got to spend for about 90 minutes of the time and nearly no waiting since it wasn't busy, and actors, volunteers, people work for the haunting experience are awesome. I hope this would improve for the future. Also I don't want to say about concession stand their menu prices is bit expensive I see $5 for brat I was like I could have buy 5 brats pack for $7 from grocery or $4 hotdogs I could have buy 8 hot dogs pack for $2 - $3 from grocery...it's kinda silly unless there is combo like chip and drinks would make sense. Anyways I mentioned this place I rated 3.5 out of 5 stars, my experience with other haunted houses such as Scream Town with the Abandoned Hayride in Chaska, I rated 5 out of 5 stars which is BEST, and for other one The Dead Hayride in Wyoming (mn), I rated 4...
Read moreFirst off Fast pass tickets are useless. Don’t purchase. You’ll stay in line if not longer then regular tickets. Owner lied and said line would be faster once instead. NOT TRUE.
2nd.Racist as hell!! We stood in line for 25-30 mins. Paid $45 for fast pass tickets and when we got to the front of the line a “white women blonde medium hair with glasses” came up to us at the front of the line and yelled in our faces “WHATS YOUR NAME !!! WHAT’S YOUR NAME!!” As WE WERE GOiNG to enter the haunted house. While we stood in line NO ONE else got this kind of treatment. After she yelled at us we asked who she was and what her name was. She ignored us and ran over to the hayride attraction. She Was NOT in costume nor any kind of makeup or uniform.
We asked the employee letting people into the haunted house who she was and she refused to tell us. She called over “Shawn” a white bald man in his 40’s Who came over to tell us she was an employee here and that’s what they do. Yet I proceeded to tell him we stood in line for 25+ mins and heard nothing and saw this happening to no one else. After arguing with him he said to me “do I need to escort you out?” Then the white lady named Becky who yelled at us came running back and said “im Becky I work here” as if she was entitled. Didn’t even apologize and ran back to the hayride. This was extremely upsetting for us who paid for the “fast pass” tickets, waited in line for 25+ mins got to the front if the line just to then get confronted by a white middle aged 40 year old women. She yelled at us as if we did not pay for our tickets and weren’t supposed to be there. What didn’t add up was their excuse was that they ask for names to tell the people in the haunted house. Yet she never went into the haunted house attraction, she went back to the hay ride.
Becky the white mid 40’s women mid length blonde hair and black glasses and Shawn the mid 40’s white bald guy. You completely ruined the experience. I’m never visiting this...
