Family hike in the Brice Creek Upper Trestle Trail in Oregon's Umpqua Mountains and wow, what an adventure! 🌲🏞️ From stunning canyon views to cascading waterfalls, it's nature's masterpiece at every turn. Oregon's beauty never ceases to amaze! #HikingOregon #UmpquaMountains #NatureLovers

This is a great hike with a beautiful waterfall you can walk behind. It is serene and gorgeous. A few small caves on the way to look at also. After the winter storm, a lot of the trails were ruined and/or covered with fallen logs. They did a pretty good job of clearing up the paths. Now it's like a fun obstacle course. The trailhead is across the bridge of the parking lot. A little further up on the right than the first trailhead labeled brice creek trail to the left. The latter of which will get you to Lower Trestle Creek falls before you reach Upper Trestle Creek. If you make the time, you should be able to do both. The hiking trail is one big loop. You can start at one end and end at the other; otherwise, take the Upper Trestle Creek Falls trail, it is distinctly labeled.

Get ready for a decent hike. Good portion of it is up a steep hill. Trail is in pretty rough condition. I didn't see any other people on the way. Pretty neat forest on the way up. The lower part is nice but I liked the top part where you can let the waterfall run over you. Not much water going over in August but plenty to make it worth the trip. The lower falls is very easy to get to so I would recommend doing the upper falls trail first.

Pretty views and a cool waterfall at the end. There is an option to upper or lower falls trail that branch off of a main trail, they are all out and back. The trail quality is bad at points due to a winter storm and downed trees, so please use caution.

Hike itself is both steep and dusty, making for a slick trail. Wear good shoes with tread. I would avoid flip flops and sandals.

Be aware, there is no cell service, no gas or restaurants near by so pack a snack and plenty of water and supplies. The road to get to the trail head is known for sharp corners with no center lane and narrow turns where people often speed down the middle of the road without regard for others sharing it. So please drive with caution to avoid a collision, it’s a shame that people don’t share the road and have more...

This is a great loop. Maybe spectacular! Everybody enjoyed it. The entire loop, upper and lower falls trails, is open with no issue. I suppose it could be really muddy. It took us 2 hr 15 minutes and the kids loved it. There is a fair amount of climbing.

Logistics: from Cottage Grove, park at the parking lot and take a picture of the hike description. There is a pit toilet. Lot fits 6-7 vehicles. Walk over the bridge and hang left on Brice Creek trail. Take the lower falls spur 1403c out and back. Then keep going the same direction and take the upper falls trail. You'll end up at the trail head just across the bridge from the parking...
