I would give this hike 5 stars, but when we were there 12/12/20 the conditions were very rough. The bathroom was abysmal, although they did have a note on the door indicating that they would not guarantee covid safe conditions...I would argue it wasn’t human safe. I am new to Oregon, having just moved here from Ohio so I can only speak to my expectations from the public and national parks back in Ohio. I researched this hike before going because I had an accident that makes steep hiking difficult for me at times. Most of reviews, such as many here, said the hike was “easy” and for “all fitness levels” “family and dog and kid friendly”. I would argue that is not the case...If you do the entire loop. The reviews I read said the counter clockwise route was harder but still “moderate” so we chose that route, thinking we’d get the tough part out of the way first. There were several downed trees on the path which were difficult to navigate and many narrow, steep sections. Overall, it was beautiful and we did see both the upper and lower falls which were breathtaking, but it was much more challenging than I anticipated based off other reviews I read. I think perhaps Native Oregonians have a different idea of what constitutes “easy”, which I will now know to take into consideration for future outings.

This trail and falls is an offshoot from the Brice Creek trail. To get to it you drive down Brice Creek road to the champion Creek trailhead. After you cross the bridge take a left (west) onto Brice Creek trail and take that for 1/2 a mile until you get to the junction with 1403c. Just a note, you can also get on the upper Trestle Creek falls trail about 100 yards past the bridge. There's signs there to show you the way, the falls are another .3 miles into the canyon. It's a neat and secluded waterfall that doesn't see too much traffic. It was also easy to do with the family, including little kids.

Truly unique falls. If you're only planning on going out to the Lower Falls take the Brice Creek trail down to the trailhead and it's an easy hike in. The Upper Falls is beyond gorgeous if you want much more of a challenge and have a little more time.
